and those assamese haters out there, im south indian, and they are as much indian as i am..

  • continued..an individual's capability..i say we call the west racists..in fact our country has the largest no of racist hypocrites..Assamese ppl are the most hospitable of the lot...i am a bengali born and brought up in Assam...I have been working in the big cities like delhi and chennai..I seriously feel that the people here are far more endearing than those places...''Bahirot thakile gom pai ki miss korisu life ot''..if u live outside ur native u understand wat u r missing in life.jai aai asom

  • Ridiculous comments!I don't know whether u r a genuine asshole or not but i feel that there are certain parts in india who are extremely racist...one is definitely north (delhi, haryana, chandigarh)where the ppl feel that they are superior than ppl from all other states..and definitely TN where they feel that other than the four southern states everyone else is from north india..india is much more than nort or south..being fair or dark or having sharp or blunt features has nothing to do with

  • @samoelihiasa

bangla is no race ..the people of wb and bdesh are mainly dravidian with admixture of austroloids, mongoloids and with little aryan genes(those belong to higher cast)..while in case of assam its different the majority of people of assam are mongoloid and semi mongoloid ..only the communities like brahmins are of aryan origin..other communities like kalita, kayastha, and so on are mixed race people ...

  • love the song . can't exactly understand all but it touches me.. everything about Assam takes me some dreamland.

  • love song . can't exactly understand all but it touches me.. everything about Assam takes me some dreamland.

  • I am not agree with you. There is no any similarity between Bengal people and Assamese people rather than the alphabets of both language .

  • assamese is mixed puple bitween bangal and marma(mog) before thousands year like thier complection 50% like bangal and 50% like mog it realy.... ihiasa

  • LOVE thissss i meean it lovee itt

  • Hauntingly beautiful song from Assam, India at it's very best.

Have never been to Assam, but had kept company with some Assamese blokes during my college days in Chennai. Sincere and genuinely friendly they were, and had a good sense of humour. Among the best people in India. Always welcomed me with a smile.

  • @zonpod Welcome to assam .you will like it i am sure, vanakkam,as much as i love the south too!

  • Assamese songs buli title dile kune search kori bisari pabo. Ganor nijor title tu dibo nuara neki?

  • People of Assam are the most misunderstood and under-rated among all the people of India.People of Kerala can understand and relate to the Assamese people naturally. This song and these scenes could be from any one malayalam film. It does take me right back to Kerala !

Then, there is the Assamese smile: it will always stay with you.

  • @kannurkarran: True. Boiled rice, plantain/banana leaves, women's two-piece dress that is different from saree, elephant, water, rain....lots of similarities.

  • im from Sylhet. and i love this song. amazing how the British divided us and set us apart even though we're the same people and speak almost the same thing. The differences are the result of evolution of cultures over the years.

  • Nice One

  • I love assamese songs. I am a Chakma from CHT, Bangladesh. My language is very close to Assamese. I understand almost ninety percent of it.

  • I originally am from Chennai but live in the UK now. I must say I had some of my best experiences in Assam. Truly, a beautiful place with lovely people. Assam will always remain special to me. I was lucky to have visited Assam not once, but twice.

There are people who, when they see differences, erect fences. There are also people who, when they see differences, build bridges. We need more of the latter, less of the former.

  • This is one of my favorite song. As a Bangladeshi I don't understand Assamese fully except its few lyrics but the music, choreography is fantastics. I respect Assamese culture. I believe they have rich cultural background. Hope we will get lots of music like this.

  • I am from North India(from Bihar) and love Assam and its people more than anything.

They have a very rich culture. Friends, just visit the place. And regarding problem, NE is having problem like any other states of India... Maharashtra(Raj Thackrey), Bihar& Jharkhand(MCC)... and so on.

    So please respect the culture.

  • when was the last time when u heard of rape case in north east, when was the last time when you heard of dowry death in north east, when was the last time ...when was the last time when you heard of female foeticide ..in many ways north east india is far modern than most of the Indian states in terms of social value...and that is because ppl north east ppl has a great culture.....for the rest of india...by culture all they mean songs & dance, tasty food & nice clothes...

  • Why are we fightinng between ouselves, we are one country, im north indian, a punjabi but there are lot of bad things happening here as well, so no state is perfect, i think east india is beautiful and an important part of our nation. jai hind

  • don't u worry my frnd, with the Central Govt's "Look East" policy largyly due to more than 60000 megawatt in Arunachal and other parts of north-east, people WILL know abt our region. forget abt the uranium mines which dnt even need to be touched. our region can alone produce so much electricity that some stupid people WILL know who we are.

  • Assam is a beautiful state and people of Assam are very simple honest straightforward. This has been my experience of Assam .

As far as losing the camera by liquidtv2 it can happen in any State or counry for that matter, one cannot generalise it to Assam .Soory Dude for your comment

  • can some body post songs assamese songs of sabita chaudhury music by sali lchaudhury probably from the 70s very popular songs.

oo phagun ore utola ba gusi ja

    oo kopo pahi

  • How exactly would you define "backwardness" ? 30,000/- is a big amount for a camera it was a robbery in your case which could happen to anyone? Assamese people are one of the most well cultured, well educated, peace-loving friendliest people i have seen throughout my entire life and in near future there will be glory days to follow..GOD BLESS INDIA and GOD BLESS ASSAM

  • sounds like malayalam and tamil mixed

  • Look at India,it was once a very backward nation but today it is one of the most fastest developing nation. The same is the case with Assam,It has improved a lot and the young generation of Assam will play a pivotal role in developing it in terms of industralisation and infrastructure.A nation or state is not known or respected by its financial condition but of the people that lives in it and their culture.Jai Aai Axom.

  • Hey Liquidtv2, I agree to you that Assam is backward but it is not that backward as you have commented.People of Assam dont steal thing to recover their financial crisis. This kind of accident I can see more in North India.Though Assam is backward in terms of Industrialisation and Infrastructure,we have a rich culture which got recognition all over the world.

  • Yo .. love dis song .. although too senti

  • janmoni

  • Assam is very backward i was in Assam and some people took my 30000 INR camera .

  • it can happen anywhere why blame assam n its people

  • I agree. Assam is backward cos this state is considered as one of the most safest state for women compared to north india :-( Assam is backward cos this state alongwith othr north eastern states will produce more 60000 megawatt hydro-electricity (largest in the country) :-( Assam is backward cos this state is most peaceful in terms of religious violence compared to north india (hardcore saffron and green parties always failed miserably here) :-(

    conti....

  • @nazrulislambora m a big fan of assam n its people.

they r sweet n caring. n they r more responsible.

  • conti...

Assam is backward cos Assamese people value humanity and love over religion, hence most number of inter-religious marriage (hell, my father is hindu and mother a muslim) :-(

I would like to illustrate more, however, the "backwardness" of the state is beyond my comment. God help Assam and hail "forwardness" of north india (by the way, i never heard of 'honour-killing' in Assam. hah, such a "backward" state) :-(

  • How cud someone say that Northeasterns are different..?Even the south Indian people have a different look...Then why do the north people cant accept it.....Countries are the creation of MAN and not GOD...God created us similar...with everything equal.....He just made the appearance different so that He could bring variety in His best creation i.e. HUMAN BEING....Be proud that U r human..and stop differentiating on appearances......!!!!

  • assamese is as different to bengali as hindi is to tamil................... we assamese are proud of our identity...........

  • i honestly think some day assam, urissa, poschim bongo and other bangla speaking and similar people will have better understanding and friendship.

    by the way sweet song.

  • janmoni

  • what a beautiful song - i cant believe i understand it perfectly

  • what a beautiful song - i cant believe i understand it perfectly - perhaps I speak bangla ... WOW fantastic song

  • It this Bengali language, Assamese speak Bangla?

The languages are very similar... Im sure its a dialect of Bangla, like Sylhet dialect is and sylhet was part of assam.

  • Thanks for the appreciation of our language! In fact both Bangla and Assamese are unique languages. We both share lot of similarities in our culture and the arts. However Assamese has its own identity and developed by the contribution of Great Assamese Icons like Shri Shri Sankardeva, Kalaguru Bishnu Rabha and Rupkunwor Jyotiprasad Agarwalla.

  • india will come to know the value of northeast soon ,,,,,,,,??????

  • sweet song -- just like this sweet actress !!!

  • good song

  • nice song

  • I am bangladeshi and I am surprised and proud to understand and feel that I can understand asam language as it is almost same like bangla language

  • Assame language, Bangla , orriya, Partly Bihar, Mithila are outcome of old Magadhi Prakrit language sub-division. Specialy Assamies and Bangla started divide between 10th-12th century. But still they have common Alphabet and words. Just Bangla is One of the Major Language of Indian-sub continent, as well as world.

  • waths the name of the movie here?

  • This kind of sceens reminds me of back home. Thanks for the video.

  • The guy appears like one of the guys who are constantly flailing their arms and shouting in the background in Jack Chan movie...nay cheap Hong Kong movies...

  • what could be more unfortunate than a fellow Indian calling another one Chinese, just because he looks a bit different from others.

This is a assamese songs and assamese are as Indian as you are.

  • There's nothing derogatory in saying someone looks 'Chinese' (even though jackshibuya did intend it as an insult, unfortunately). Chinese people are as attractive as any other.

However, I think the term 'Tibeto-Burman' is more accurate to describe the unique look of some of the Bangladeshi and northeastern Indian peoples.

  • I second this. I'm Assamese, I do not look like Chinese, and yet, I am extremely fascinated by some Chinese women Kela.

  • what we call chinese in the north east of the indian subcontinent is actually tibeto-burman

genes passed on by the early tibetan tribes which settled and shaped these region. the people in this region carry substantial mongoloid genes. tibetan roots are some thing which makes this region diffrent to other parts of india. We should be proud how we look ,this is our heritage.

  • Yes. Or maybe No. I am not an intellectual; what I mean by the word "Chinese" is what Americans (USA) will call "Asian". Just a name.

  • @hsandilya Well said .

  • Great job...keep it up...........
