oh, nightmarish game, i think i had a bad copy of it, when the water rises it get all glitchy and stuff. i was playing the bearded guy, i know every time i had a good group with me, they decided to commit mass suicide x_x, but i managed to get to the ending... a bad ending with 3 or 4 following me... 2 are kiddos lol
Yea. You would think that the guy's beard would empower him enough to not only break out of the ship and save all the passengers on it, but also to solve all the big problems in the world:
world hunger, poverty and most of all put an end to curling. It isn't even a real sport FFS!

I've never saved anyone in this game. Too much of a pain. They survivors often behave in incompetent ways, like jumping off of a ledge in the boiler room when there is basically a 200 foot drop beneath them... for no reason.
Imagine trying to coordinate 5 of these dumbasses through the whole ship without them all dying.
... which is about the time you'll realize it's WAY more fun to find inventive ways to kill them. LOL

Hell yea. Shadowrun is awesome and SOS was really inventive for the time. Still one of my favorite guilty pleasures from the 16 bit console generation
I believe you could make a slightly faster speedrun using Capris...if you head back down to Amy's room before the ship overturns, you should be rather close to the boiler room...don't take my word on it though. (The ship's layout confuses me... XD)

There is the possibility you don't have the counselor. There is also the possibility that you haven't found the right character to bring along with you. I dunno.
But I heard to get some endings some people must die en route to the extraction point. how do you get people killed? I'm really having trouble getting others killed.
It's not very difficult to get people killed in this game. :) The best way is to go to the boiler room, stand on one of the platforms and signal the others in an awkward position. In a few moments, the ship will shift and they will fall to their doom. It's always kind of funny... "AHHHHHHGGGGGG"
he got a bad ending, becuase he didn't save any of the servivors. The more you save, the better the ending, thats where the real challenge is. Run straight to the last room isn't hard at all,find/convincing and SAVING 7 people, and making it to the end is.

Each person you pic from at the beginning has a set of family/friends. for instance the old guy he's playing only "needs" his wife t have a semi good ending. But the balance is that he can't jump very high and he's very slow.
The young guy has it the hardest, he has to save his wife and 4 kids and his sick cousin to even get a half decent ending. The balance is that he's fast as hell and can jump WAY high.
Actually....if they were to remake this as an enviuroment puzzle game liek Ico for the new consoles...it could be great.
hey...this game is still better than the Poseidon Adventure remakes (yes...there were 2 remakes. 1 was straight to TV.) though I did like how they had the suckion engine room thing as the end.
