What I really love about this whole record goes something like this:
The sounds he uses, they are stock. A music critic would normally bash that.
His melodies are simple and run around basic scales with a pitch shifter adjusted. A music critic would rag all over that too... Much of his music is eq'd to the point that the highs hurt the ear just a bit. A music critic would pounce all over that.
The things that SHOULD make it horrible are what make it AWESOME. I love it
@slmtutorials it's the best term for the case... you like to comment on people's comments. your first comment on my comment was a PEANUT GALLERY comment. (is my language uncultured enough here? I don't want 2 sound elitist)
@adayofmoments why give a shit about what the critics think, i dont listen to a song they say its good, i listen to a song because i enjoy it. and this i love!
@oinaah you clearly didn't understand the crux of what I was saying. read it again and you'll see that I'm clearly praising the song/approach. why do people want to bash a compliment? I don't understand.
My issue with Rustie and Hudmo is that although their technical prowess is impressive, I personally get no emotional response from it. That being said I got respect for these guys and I purchase their albums. Yes purchase physically.
@hushamouse Absolutely, man CLARK should be way more famous than he is. My curiosity is certainly peaked by RUSTIE though, this kid has a lot going for him. But CLARK is pretty untouchable. I even think he rivals the demigods like APHEX TWIN and SQUAREPUSHER. Body Riddle is probably my favorite album of all time. Anyway cheers!
@motion474 honestly (in my humble opinion) youve got it twisted, all you can see in rustie is potential. clark was great, but i feel like he's played out, and what he's done lately has failed to get myrocks off.
@swineempire How do you know what I see in Rustie? I like about 70% of his output. But no, he is no clark, but most people myself included are not clark. I hated turning dragon, but everything else is fucking crazy good. I just see rustie's sound as being a bit of a hipster novelty kinda thing, not enduring. Too much sugar and happy hardcore and cuddly little hyper pitched voices for me. That said, I did get off my ass and go down to the store and buy glass swords, because I do appreciate.
is this dubstep? cause it doesnt sounds like it

@adayofmoments oh stop trying to sound cultured. 'peanut gallery'... that term doesn't even make sense in this context.
