This song gets me to the core and this version would have to be the most beautiful I've heard. I could listen to this over and over again and never be tired of it.
@MusicalCitty no offence but the grammys dont mean a thing in reality,,just like the billboard charts,,its artificially fixed but talent like alison krauss is just not negotiable,,isnt she something ?
@MusicalCitty yes of course she does,,and much more in the way of world rocognition for her outstanding vocal range, not to mention being very easy on the eye, but thats just from a male perspective,,regards ,rob
I think you'll find the band's name is The Foundations (plural not singular). Tthey're both nice although most people who were young back in '67 are more likely to want to hear the original - same as people who are young now won't be as keen on some version of a favourite song done by someone else in 30 or 40 years time. Personally I think it's always nice to hear a different take on a song, rather a straight cover. The writers, by the way, were Tony Macaulay and John Macleod.
@MrZunichi21 No, she is not. This song was done in 1967 by a Brit group called The Foundation. This album, itself, is a collection of covers and past hits (w/Union Station) at that point in '95.
When I first heard this (hmm,,,a few years ago,,,) i remember thinking that I would never have thought this 'R&B' song would ever have mad such a beautiful blue grass melody and sweet song.
thanks for posting , AnnMarieJane, and thanks Alison/Union Station for the tranquil-happy moments hearing your interpritaiton!

Thumbs up if this song makes you think of Jennifer Love Hewitt walking into a bar and meeting Jason Lee.

makes me back during elementary years, imagining of a serenading boy and girl during a promenade, or sometimes a diary of a woman to her crush.

@Jakefeister i have to agree i didnt ever think this could make such a great transition and tbh...
i think this is better as a blue grass melody rather than the old better softer more emotional R&B
