duen your a fucking moron...people like you shouldent have knives...let alone guns...people like you should have to go through a long process to just acquire a spoon let alone other silver ware...
There aren't two springs in a double action OTF switch blade. There is one spring and two sears. Pressing the switch preloads the spring amd then releases the sear holding the blade. The blade is then literally fired to the open position and held in place by the second sear. Closing is just the reverse operation. There is no physical link between the spring and the blade. Someone who sells $500 Microtechs should know this.
I like how neither one of the knives were switchblades lol. The first knife was an OTF(out the front) and the seccond was a stiletto. But most people mix these two knives with a switblade. yeah that guy obviously hadn't handled a knife before.
@555krazy by the standard of us customs and border agency... (which most courts use their definition) a switch blade is a type of knife with a folding or sliding blade contained in the handle which is opened by a spring when a button or lever on the grip is pressed.... so by law they are switchblades... OTF blades and stilettos are considered switchblades by definition... while spring assisted knifes are not.
@555krazy Please don't try to correct people with incorrect information. Both knives were types of switchblades. Any knife where you push a button or other mechanism not attached to the blade to open it is a switchblade. Assisted opening knives differ in that the mechanism for opening them is activated by pushing on the blade itself. Therefore, knives using thumb studs or knives who use a mechanism activated by pushing the blade are not switchblades.
mine needs a repair, it is 9" italian stiletto made in Italy with white pearl handle. The spring came rusted and fall apart. I do not know if it is worth fixing it ? I am in central Florida. I do not know who can fix it for me.
I had two like this and sold them for a couple hundred each. Microtec MISTAKE! Oh well, I still have two Microtech LCC Lightfoots....theres no comfort in letting one of these knives or a custom sell. I regret selling those.
don't worry bout poppin the blade; you just push the round little button like thing on the side of the handle, thus making it pop and it is not disigned to hurt the holder... so don't worry lol.
I have that knife, but I oiled it,cause it was getting harder to open!! So can anyone fix it 4me? Or lead me in the right direction to buy a new one? thank for everyones help!
You can fix it yourself. Its a very simple design and there is not too many things that can go wrong. Your knife probobly has a worn slider release. You can just file it and make it smooth again. Look around the net to see how they actually work before you open it up.
Ok nitwit. A switch blade..means switch...up and down...hence out the front switchblade. A Stilletto comes out the side and is Italian design which is why they are among the most expensive kind to own. I am a knife collector and go to shows and sharpen professionally.
I jack off 2 this everyday and have orgasms doin it im a freaky dude my name is Thomas by the way i dont actully own a computer im doin this through my mind!!!!!!!!!
Ha ha ha! You said it perfectly. That's what some people say about my personality, sometimes its kid like, full of awe and wonder. Check out my latest video where I take a child to visit Bishop Museum. Just use the keywords: Duen and museum.
i got an assisted for $15, you can find cheap switchblades too. but the premium brands can cost in the hundreds. most expensive i have seen is $200 for an italian switchblade.
Only one i have is inherited. However, I've seen them online, swap meets, and some times gun shows. Gun shows rock for getting knives, and if you know a vendor, or know a guy who knows a guy you can find what you want at a great deal.
I used to have one along time ago, and I spent many a night trying to figure out how I can put a real blade on it, but its too cheaply made to put a real knife blade on it!
I am confused. I am fifty & had severalswitch blades as a preteen, teen, and well into my 20s, and this guy is clearly older then me & never had one before ?
That's right. I am 59, and this was my very first experience with one. That's why it was so funny, and surprising about how fast the blade came out. In less than the blink of an eye!

Thanks for that most interesting observation. I notice that in some of my videos, sometimes I slur my words together, so much so, that I will retake the clip to get the words out more clearly. You've piqued my curiosity, so I will have to ask some of my friends if that was their first impression of me. If you check my latest video, on my channel profile, I also notice I run my words together. Is that what you mean?
I just recently took the online test for Asperger Syndrome (Google "Asperger AQ test Pie Palace" to find it) It is considered a mild form of autism, and I scored very high, a 38! I asked some of my friends if they thought I had AS, and some said yes. So this is an interesting revelation. No wonder I cannot recognize faces too easily because I never looked at anyone when I spoke to them so all that facial recognition software in my brain was never wired up correctly.
Is that real Microtech or a clone? I've been collecting for years & just got my first real one (Microtech, got it from TinysUSA) & can't get over the action & speed it closes with. Just Beautiful! I'm thinking of getting a Dalton next.
And since I am here busy writing comments to my own video, I might mention that someone sent me anonymously a knife with a scrimshaw handle in the mail some months ago with no note or return address. So it that was you, Tom, my belated thanks!
Since I have not seen the inside of the knife depicted above, technically speaking, I have no idea how many springs are inside. The tension was quite high, and I found it difficult to actuate the knife in either direction
Oops, accidentally deleted the question regarding the number of springs. I just posted my video response to a video that disassembles an OTF knife and shows it only has one spring.
