  • I just got mine could someone PLEASE tell me how I can watch youtube videos, and any other ones. I have a good internet connection but when I click onto a video it says error, etc... I got this to get netflix on and others, please help me

  • suck

  • DOES anyone know where to get the little pointer that comes with it? Mine was lost and my fingers are too big for the screen

  • Does it completely replace the original firmware? or does it just give you a seperate homescreen to be able to run apps you otherwise cant?

  • So what happens to the volume? Are you ever able to use the built in speakers?

  • No , you can not live stream from the internet with a tablet. Don't need Kindle app. Can use some phone apps for the Pandigital. Just try them. I have bunches of apps now that work. I have the Pandigital black model which is smaller than the white model in capabilities only! The website of Pandigital now has the android app so you don't lose the capability of the Barnes & Noble ereader. I used the SD card to load the android apps into it!

  • can u stream live vidio from the internet?

  • How do you get the kindle app? I havent found a download for a tablet, only for the phones. How comes theres not a tablet app for it?

  • Hi, I was just wondering whether i could run flash on the web browser if i hack the novel? Can you go to the Android store as well? Thx

  • @JerridPayne, It's a book reader and it's not hideously slow. Just not super fast. Mine works fine. Yes, it's a little slow some times and there's lag, but often it's reasonably quick. A little patience is all it took. Usually only ipad users complain. But at $500 with monthly fee, for a little more smoothness is retarded if you ask me. Unless they have need, then that's different. - pandigital reads books and has good wifi browsing and is a good price.

  • two questions 1: can i get android apps( games) and 2: do i absolutely need an sd card or can i use a usb cord?

  • how do you open it on the pandigital i cant figure it out ..i see them on my computer but not on the pandigital HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @BITCHimFROMakron it has a back slide panel 1/2 slides apart to get to the sd micro card.

  • I have a Black Pandigital Novel. You can now download from the website Open platform android. My question is this. Once I download the open platform, I lost Barnes&Noble. Is there a way of having the ereader capability after making it an android tablet? How do you download itunes to too? I can not get many apps such as Kindle or Kobo because it asks for itunes library first.

  • @MsPhillyone, this would be good to know. I'm using one as it comes from the factory and it's working fairly good as an ereader. I wanted to hack it to see if anything was better, but I can't lose the ereader functionality. I guess it's good enough as is.

  • @MsPhillyone, one other tip. I would forget itunes. apple and itunes suck big time, seriously. They try to control everything, and force music into their own proprietary format, and in general make life difficult. All my music is simply in mp3 format and I use other players to avoid them, and that alone has make things a lot easier. But up to you... Also there will probably NEVER be an itunes add on for this due to all the protections and control etc..

  • where is the link for the zip file??

  • @LilMiszBreezy I don't know how you can be having trouble finding it. It's over on the blog post. I just looked. It's still there.

  • How do you install apps?

    And get YouTube?

  • how the hell do u turn the volume up den?

  • @philephan2010

    From the settings menu.

  • @nhoffeld thanks

  • This definitely looks awesome seeing how slow the pandigital was originally. Have you tried to run the latest Android OS, and how did it compare to Panda Home? Also, Naomi Novik FTW!

  • Much faster and you don't have to swipe to turn pages. When you hack it, its almost usable.

  • @Jerridpayne, how did you hack yours? I'm on windows 7 now

    Thanks.

  • @JerridPayne it won't be slow if you hack the thing.

  • Is there a way to remove this hack?

  • @zane551 Sorry, I just now found out that the Youtube emails were in my spam folder.

You should be able to flash a newer firmware and undo all the changes.

  • 1:37 ???

  • Thank you so much for posting this I've bought 2 of these Pandigital novels. The hack worked great i just followed the instructions posted and bingo bango it was rockin android. runnin the command line wasn't to difficult just had to brush up on my dos commands i.e. cd\.. and all that stuff i've forgotten. Well anyway thanks I'm lookin forward to more hacks and tricks for this thing

  • yes the wifi worked b4 the hack... i already updated the firmware from pandigital... and still no wifi... it will come on but the signal is red, then when i scan it wont pickup my wireless net, or anyothers around me... it just shuts off.

  • @viperwitch1976 I guess you have to return it.

  • already did.... the wifi will come on, and then when i scan nothing happens and it shuts off. any ideas i would really appreciate it.

  • @viperwitch1976 First, did the Wifi work before you hacked the Novel? You might have a bad firmware.

If you know it worked before and it doesn't work now then there's not much you can do. You have 2 choices. Wait for a firmware update or return the Novel.

  • @nhoffeld yes the wifi worked b4 i hacked it.. i reset the novel and went to the pandigital site and updated the firmware and still no wifi... so im confused on what could be the problem.

  • i hacked mine also, but my wifi wont work now...any ideas??

  • @viperwitch1976 Reboot the Novel.

  • @nhoffeld already did..the wifi will come on, and then when i scan, nothing happens and it shuts off.

  • @viperwitch1976 how do you open it on the pandigital i cant figure it out ..i see them on my computer but not on the pandigital HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • If the volume buttons change, are they now on the screen?

  • @dirtbikefamily234 You can access them through the setting.

  • Nate,

I thought you may be able to help me with a problem that I am having with the video conversion for the pandigital. I am using the ZC converter program and converting files to MPEG4. The problem I am having is that the sound and the video are not in sync. Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

  • @KMoceri I really don't know anything about video conversion. Sorry.

  • Use handbrake from handbrake.fr for video conversion to mp4 format. Make certain the file extension is .mp4

  • this is really cool beacuse its like $150 but it has a shitty standard os with this android os it would make it soo much better....is it easy to install?

  • How well does it play video files? What type does it support? What format? Thanks!

  • There is a Youtube app for Android, yes. But it doesn't play all Youtube videos.

If you go over to Slatedroid, you'll find a link to the install file.

  • Yes can you play youtube on it now ???

cuz if it can that would be a huge !!! plus for me

  • Can you play youtube videos on this unit?
