@mrmuffins007 Only if you eat or inhale it. The Alpha particles it releases aren't penetrating (ionizing) radiation. Though it does decay to radon (which is a radioactive gas you could inhale) over its 14 billion year half life. So in short, it's about as dangerous as bleach.

You might also be able to find them at a hardware store or one of the big chains, like Lowe's or Home Depot. I was searching for "Ekanite", but found nothing. It's a Thorium containing mineral. I have a 2.17ct Pear Cut gemstone of it ($186.00). It's expensive, but registers pretty high on my Terra-P Dosimeter. Can't wait to get my CDV-700 and try it!
nop it´s better to get the thorium from lanturn mantles, if you have any. Here in sweden it is almost impossible to find any lanturn mantles that contain thorium. That´s why I used this method.
I wonder if you could thororate filiments like what they do to vacuum tubes?

Try to get the orange labeled WT40. They have, the most ThO2, 4%, twice much as your WT20.
And it's a good idea to chop the electrodes to tiny bits, to increase the surface area.

nop it´s better to get the thorium from lanturn mantles, if you have any. Here in sweden it is almost impossible to find any lanturn mantles that contain thorium. That´s why I used this method.
