The first on is the one played in the intro of the first episode, it also played again when Simmons grabed onto the warthog's turret duing his escape from the Meta. i think this fits amazingly well to whats going on. the vocals when maine got sniped and suppressed carolina. tex showing up with the epic guitars. the suspenseful part where the ODST(?) troopers are winning on the truckbed then goes back to a more somber theme where maine gets shot half a dozen times. well done :)

@rando12 Well i guess since this is set after the halo games (They refer to what master chief did in some earlier episodes) There is a chance the ODST have some level of advancements similar to the Mjolnir armour of the spartans making them harder to kill. They were pretty damn badass anyway. Spartans also have the bonus of having the specific genetic advancements and the mass of physical enhancements such as the super conductive nerve pathways also bones coated in a energy displacing substance

@holycowitsdave The coating on their bones was energy displacing as well, mostly designed to survive brute force since their muscles and the mjolnir suits increased their strength and speed so that normal human bones would break under the stress. The suit was the main energy dampening thing though since something covering your bones is a little useless as they will have already blasted through your skin and organs.

@tough2015 Could you possibly mean the trailer to season 9? If so, that took place a long while before the events of revelations. Before season 1 for that matter. Maine got shot in the throat during the sarcophagus mission. I'm pretty sure the trailer is the aftermath of that. I personally believe that Maine did survive but the trailer does not confirm that he stayed alive. That's just my opinion though I could be way off-base.

Therefore, nothing in that video has anything to do with weather or not Maine survived at the end of season 8. Another thing, Washington couldn't have told York about what happened after revelations took place because York died about 3 seasons prior. I'm sorry if I sound like a jackass right now, I'm not trying to.

Unless he hit solid ice, hit the water flat, or his armor cracked and he froze to death, it's entirely possible that they could bring him back in one way or another for a future season. the meta, was as we all saw, inhumanly durable, beyond just being a spartan, or freelancer, he took explosions, bullets, point blank shotgun shell, and impacts that even with armor would have broken every bone in his body, no matter what augmentations the frellancers have, also im almost certain his armor has fucking life supprt how dumb would it be if it didnt? also he had more than enough time to disconnect the rather loosly hooked warthog hook on the way down the cliff, and fall by himself.

Much like Wyoming was defeated in Blood Gulch, the Meta was defeated in Recollection. In season 9 the two characters were both in the flashbacks but were not as in the forefront as the other freelancers. Meta was shown most in the fight scenes as background information with him, not to further progress his character, as well as being on the "good" side. If he is brought back during the "current" events of freelancer it would ruin the idea of an enemy being defeated and would just kill the plot.
