Well, it's like this.

When Bob Dylan wrote "Simple Twist of Fate" for Blood on the Tracks - a truly great record, by the way, if not quite up to Blonde on Blonde - it was based on the real-life story of Jasper Ellis, a former mink trapper who fell in love with a prostitute he picked up in New Jersey in 1957.

When the song was released, Ellis recognised his story and came to associate it with the Dylan going electric controversy. Ellis went on to murder 6 people. Thus, this ruling. Scary eh?

The music industry is concentrated to the us and england because of money. 100s of swedish songwriters are working for american/english artists. So everything is not so american one might think. It is harder to launch swedish artists though. For ex, a major us record company will demand the artist to move to the us at least for some time.
