I never refer to exact locations in my film. This pair have gone from the field now - cattle have been grazing there all summer and there's not enough cover for them anymore.
Don't please give the location of where this is away, as too many hare hunters will descend on your field....I love hares [and lurchers] but hares are too beautiful to be caught and chased. Two dogs after one hare is just unfair. Beautifully filmed.
Filmed this sequence some years ago with a long discontinued camera I no longer own - Ikegami HL-V79W DVCPRO50. Lens was Canon 500/4.5L lens and x1.4 and x2 extenders. The 2x slow motion is achieved by de-interlacing from 50i footage to 25p - not ideal but the only affordable option at that time. I now have the Sony EX3 camera.
I watched a hare a few days roll on it's back just like a dog. Didn't get a very good shot of it though but it was good to see. So much more one sees than can be recorded.
@YAProductions2010 Not in the film because different location to the other hares and there were only two (actually there was a third briefly) whereas in the film there were many hares in the field.
That is one of the most frustrating but important things about film-making - if it doesn't fit in the film then it must be left out, however good the shots or however difficult it was to get the shots.
Check out my channel for some cool footage of a mouse that's living in my shed!
