I met the drummer, Ron Albertson, on the street in Brooklyn and bought three small paintings from him. We talked about punk rock and he directed me here. This is a great song...it reminds me of the stuff that we would listen to back in college 1984. Remember that Rough Trade Compilation titled "Wanna Buy A Bridge"??? I freakin' love good art...it makes life worth living. It's necessary.
@v1switch Oh, trust me, I do. Everything he's ever taught me or my friends about music has benefited/influenced us greatly. It's sad that Ron moved back to New York a second time. They had a good second run in Lincoln.
I too remember all the great shows in Duffy's..Jon jamming his guitar into the amp...Heidi abusing her bass guitar. Still have my vinyl 45's. Sure do miss those days.
Thank God this clip exists - makes me proud to be a Nebraskan - blows 311 out of the water. Live in Duffy's so many times - out of my mind - RARE trio of talent - I miss them.
Went to a laundry bar called sudsy malones and they were playing. they kicked ass and i went to music shop and had them order this cd. Damn good cd. I found it last year in the garage and jamed on it for about 2 weeks,
Mercy Rule toured the Midwest a lot when I was in college at University of Iowa. I saw them every time they came to town. They were my favorite 'local' band during that time. Heidi once told me I was Iowa City's biggest fan! I still have my signed CDs. Awesome band live - great people - wish them luck!
This is so great! This is one of my favorite songs by one of favorite bands of all time, and I'd never seen this before. Mercy Rule=best Nebraska band ever!
I just gotta say that I never listened to them even though they are from my hometown and were quite successful. I really enjoy this song and their others and wish I would have seen them back when they rocked Lincoln.
I am honored that I was able to share this video with two of the band members permissions.
always loved this album... these guy deserve some big success.

It's so weird to see this, yet so cool.
Jon is such a cool guy. He teaches my band, Johnny 5 and the Water Cannon, in Academy of Rock.

Heidi and Jon have a new band called Domestica. They don't tour, but songs and a web presence are upcoming.
