  • 3:35 God, he looks so much like a guy that you would not want to mess with.

  • Does the song that starts playing at like 2:07 have a name?

  • Still had goosebumps watching the fire opening scene with that epic soundtrack

  • Hmm, kind of an awkward opening. This movie doesn't hold up well. :(

  • War is depressive. it is "Gloomy". Most have no clue that being involved in War factors do not seem to shine through. at least not in any meaningful way.

  • What is the opening music

    ?

  • Why can't tristar pictures be in the opening credits. The distributor always comes first in the credits. WHY NOT THE TERMINATOR FILMS?!!

  • The future John Connor here looks like a battle hardened badass mother fucker. And we are supposed to believe the John Connor in T3 ends up being this guy? lol. T2 should have been the last movie.

  • Now this was definitely how to start a movie that had been in the news as the most expensive film ever made at that time, the first $100 million dollar movie. Now a budget like that is spent giving us crap.

  • I liked T4. T3 was pretty weak. But T2 is one of the best movies of all time imho.

  • Complaints about T4 aside, Bale looks a lot like the dude here.

  • The ending to T2 was the perfect conclusion for the entire fanchise. Cyberdyne was blown up, the arm and chip were destroyed, and finally Arnold's character was terminated. All causes of the cataclysmic future no longer existed.

  • T4 was fucking awesome, what yall on about zzz... I admit, I did need more action

  • Ya, however The Dark Knight was a pretty damn good sequil to Batman Begins. And a few others but their like gold to be mined for.

  • Good music

  • what is the name of the guy playing John Connor in this short scene?

  • ths John Connor in this part should have been the one in Terminator Salvation. he just looks like a hardass. even has a scar. chicks dig scars.

  • 2 people burned in that playground.

  • I think Terminator 2 Judgement Day's the best one!

  • This has all happened before... It will all happen again... again... again... again....

  • The very first 3 shots of the movie, two traffic, and one with the girl swinging, with that blued over-tone over it, sun shining off the cars, are my very favorite moments in all of film. It's strange how much those images mean to me and I don't know why. I grew up with this being my favorite movie since I was a child and those images just stuck with me. Then followed by the burning playground with that sad song playing gives me a very amazing nostalgic feeling.

  • @bigstabby same here. must have watched this back when i was about 5 or 6 and those first few scenes of the cars and playground were as poignant for me even then. i am surprised that i had enough emotional development to appreciate the sentiment, but obviously i had. the emotional impact of this opening has not diminished for me as i've aged. it captures perfectly the sadness or melancholy of human civilisation coming to an end. this is real art, a true masterpiece.

  • @likeaslowburn lol Knew I wasn't the only one. I sort of feel like a kid again everytime I see it.

  • This and the original are in a completely different league to T3, TS and TSSC. It's insulting that the latter three are even associated with this.

  • with this music i exprienced the best shave ever!

i cut myself and it didnt hurt because im a machiiiiiiiiiine

  • ..Come with me if you want to live..

  • yeah, T4 really sucked. the director of the first two films from how I see it viewed the future as very dark, graphic death/gory. the resistence didn't seem to have aircraft or a lot of the future technology that gave the appearance they were at a disadvantage with the machines & losing. until John Connor re-organized them effectively to fight off the threat. but in T4 it doesn't give that impression that humans were at any extreme disadvantage against the machines, nor does the scenery app dark

  • @runsaber1 well t4 was set in 2018 and the originals future was set in 2029, so idk maybe something happened to put them at a extreme disadvantage. but t4 did suck balls compared to t2 atleast we got to see some nice tits in the t4 directors cut edition tho.... lol

  • The future segments were my favorite parts of these movies. It's a shame that when they actually made a movie about the future war it completely sucked...

  • judgment day is comeing may 21 2011

  • @bloodrose102 I'm the only survivor left on the earth and the day is may 22 2011

  • 5:27-5:48 is what always comes to mind when I think of these movies. That image of the Terminator staring into your soul with its red eyes surrounded in fire, was burned into my brain the moment I saw it. Such an awesome way to open up an awesome movie and totally set the mood :P

  • A M A Z I N G

  • I can't see anyone commenting on this aspect: have you noticed that this version (T2) differs from the theme in T1? And I have to say T2 is the one I love. Here the main theme goes (bear with me as I try to explain what I mean):

    Da-da-da-da-da-DOM-DOM Da-da-da-da-da-DOM-DOM

    Where in T1 it goes:

    Da-da-da-da-da-da-DOM-DOM Da-da-da-da-da-da-DOM-DOM

So that's 5 da's with T2 versus 6 in T1. For me I feel it's the 5 from T2 that's like the "famous" Terminator theme. What do you think?

  • Why, oh why, did they not stop at T2? T3 and Salvation suck all kinds of dinosaur penis.

  • the best film, the company pacific western sounds like a harddrive maker. everything was technological in this film.

  • Empire Strikes Back and Terminator 2 are the best sci fi sequels of all time

  • "COME WITH ME IF YOU WANT TO LIVE"

i think everybody has heard this phrase...

  • James Cameron is a genius...I don't think there will be a movie like this one again. His movies seem to never get old and are watchable over and over again. Once he lost the rights to this franchise, the Terminator movies just weren't the same after this one.

  • This is the movie which I have ever watched the most.like 61st times.but i still can watch it 62nd time.how the hell is this possible?omg I worship this movie.

  • @darthjovian This, King Kong, Gojira, and Titanic made we want to be a film maker.and i still want to be a film maker because of this. And if i do, no bullshit cgi will be used. Models and make-up will be use.

  • why their are modified wersions of the guns is they modified to use plasma based cartriges the barel is made of glass or some kind of crystal

  • The great about this movie is, well yes, they used CGI, but they really only used it for the t-1000 effects, and the opening titles. Besides that, everything was done practically, practical explosions, practical make-up effects (done by the great and late Stan Winston), even this whole scene opening scene with the war against the machines and the scene when Cyberdyne blew up was ALL done practical. Movies today just abuse CGI. Of course in Avatar, the whole movie's story required complete CGI.

  • Big explosion= the best opening credits ever for an action movie!

  • the model 1887 is in there (from modern warfare 2)

  • Hell's playground

  • 0:45-1:03. That music combined with the pictures make the world look so gloomy. Its one of the most depressive, yet somewhat absorbing, scene of all time.

  • @TheQuadroneuron total agrre w/ u ...:-/

wonder where i can find this music tile? i own the ost but it istn on it ..

  • This movie has my age :D it's really an excellent second Terminator movie.

  • 5:40 that's what happens kids if you don't eat your greens

  • arnold svartsenigga

  • The end of the credits with the Terminator looking ominously into the camera gives me chills every time I see it. If you saw the first movie before you saw the second and know the history about that endoskeleton, you'd have nightmares.

  • It better look like that in 19 years.

  • Best movie opening EVER!

  • This is the LAST terminator movie in my humble opinion. T3 and T4 should NEVER have been made.

  • @spiderboy43 t3 was sh1t, but i liked t4. imo its good they accually making more terminator movies when they at war

  • Comment removed

  • @MagicBeemes The thing with me is I liked how the first 3 movies portrayed the war as something dark and mysterious, something that the audience couldn't fully grasp. True they talked about how horrific it's going to be, sometimes showing brief scenes, but it was still very unknown. For me, Terminator will always be about preventing the war, not fighting in it.

  • @MindlessMiles so true cant arque with that.

  • I love this opening! It gives off the right vibes for the film...the opening scenes and the musical score are subtle, yet creepy in a kind of sense. The music makes my skin crawl - it makes me fear Sky-Net, Judgment Day and the dystopian future to come.

  • I feel old, i have this on VHS.

    and i'm only 14!

  • @woodledoodledoodle dont feel old , i have the 1st one on vhs

  • does anybody know the music during the beginning

  • Dada dum Da-Dum - repeat lots of times

  • @JBwizzy92 lol pretty much

  • fuck terminator 3 and 4 terminator 1 and 2 are the best

  • I love this movie and the deleted scenes of this movie too!

"THERE IS NO FATE BUT WHAT WE MAKE FOR OURSELVES" Kyle said to Sarah in her dream (I have this deleted scenes and other in my channel if you want watch this!)

    Hasta la vista Baby!

  • i have the 2 disc special edition, lot of special features

  • Comment removed

  • Umm, grammar or GTFO. lol jk just use proper grammar. ( i mean when using words, using abbreviations is ok)

  • @Boohahascaredyou

Using abbreviations like "GTFO" and "jk" are a tad unsophisticated.

    *i becomes I

laugh out loud just kidding just use proper grammar, is not good grammar

  • @woodledoodledoodle How long ago did i write a comment here?! Were you just looking through all of them to find one that uses gtfo/jk!? Abbreviations such as these have become standard on the internet, don't say you have NEVER used them yourself. Whatever, it's just strange. I don't even remember what I wrote.

  • One of the best Cinematic intros (to a movie) ever. Watching this on the big screen was epic.... the playground consumed in a raging firestorm. It was awesome.

  • One thing to remember, this scene is from 2029; Terminator Salvation takes place in 2018. Eleven years of war between the two dates leaves a great deal of possibilities open for exploration.

  • Los Angeles looks like Capital Wasteland in Fallout 3

  • The Terminator 4 movie should be like this future scene or the future flashback in the first movie and not that peace of shxx.

  • I am also interested in what the music is from 0:42-to 1:05-until about!

  • 0:42 -1:05 music??? please

  • I heard they used common ammunition in the new Terminator movie instead of the Phased Plasma Rifles. I think the two minutes of the future war here is better than all the Matrix films and the last two terminator films... COMBINDED.

    No, it's better than life!

  • @alexforever411 Well, they use armor-piercing ammunition. And against oldd Terminators (T-800 model imprevious to gunfire is only being introduced).

  • i guess the world ends on my birthday

  • edward furlong rocks

  • Dude, I agree, but a youtube comments page might not be the best place to put this. lol You know they're just going to spam it like they did.

  • In my opinion, this and ALIENS are the best 2 science fiction sequels ever.

  • Hell yeah they are!

  • @truck2112yes Don't forget Wrath of Kahn.

  • @truck2112yes Definitely the best Cameron films for sure.

  • @truck2112yes Agreed.

  • @truck2112yes and predator ^^

  • this is the eeriest movie intro evaah

  • I agree; the fires of nuclear holocaust are an interesting choice of backdrop for the credits. Then again, it definitely fits.

  • if terminator salvation was like terminator 2 it wold a lot better but they did a great job don't get me wrong

  • if this is 2029 AD the that means john goes on for 11 more years after terminator 4!!

  • Yeah, he does. If you notice, the weapons here are more advanced than the ones in Salvation (lasers instead of bullets). Plus John is older here. He's in his 40's as opposed to his 30's like in that movie. Alot more is still gonna happen, they didn't send anyone back in time at the end of that movie.

  • the best part in the openiing sequence is when the t-800 steps on the human skull. when watching it first as a child i jumped lol. ok terminator 3 seemed a little out of whack but salvation (4) makes it look shitty. in my opinion, james cameron should of came back to do more terminators. i guess he thought the story ended with the 2nd terminator movie. also, james cameron is the one who came up with the terminator, so i think he should of been the only one to make more termoinator movies aftr 2

  • T4 is just a load of money spinning shite, the franchise ended with T2- one of the best action movies ever!

  • Yeah. McG doesn't know much about action moviemaking, anyway. He did the Charlie's Angels movie, for god's sake.

  • What can you expect from the same man who directed the charlies angels films?

  • @SimonCoulthard amen

  • @SimonCoulthard agreed. Nobody knows how or cares to make good films anymore.

  • i think that james cameron would be every happy with what theve done with salvation man like number 3 was a complete joke.

  • very nice video well done
