The marsoc just looks plainly more realistic, plus I've looked into many Kimber models and I've always wanted a LAPD SWAT custom 2 this is the only Kimber model that closely resembles it, another thing different about the 2 is the cocking serations. I'll go for the marsoc only because of it's looks plus ill dump what ever I can on it to keep it lasting a life time.

@bmil69 Buy a used one, I bought a WA Kimber CQB SCW 3 for 100 bucks, barely used, so unused that even the front sight hadn't been attached! Anyways, skirmished with it last Saturday and I'm amazed! It's a very solid gun even in 28 degree weather! I would buy every WA before I buy a WE/Socom again, WE/Socom may be metal but that metal will break sooner than later, which means more money into replacement parts....it adds up very quickly.

Out here in Washington, WA pistols are extremely hard to come across, my buddy had one for a while and it was a beautiful gun, and extremely quiet. I just acquired an Army MEU and the build quality and finish is superb for what you pay. Not to mention the full trademarks are awesome. For $60 (new) its one of hte cheapest GBBs out there and its actually decent quality, mag needs to be used and filled or it starts to leak though.

@bmil69 I just bought another "used" WA 1911, got it for 50 bucks shipped, only thing wrong with it is the magazine is missing a small spring that keeps the follower down, not a huge problem if you have a spring laying around like I do. I do agree that the Army 1911s are built superbly for the price but I'd rather search for a WA than an Army even tho you have to pay a little more it's worth the pain. Just go forum searching like I do and you will find some reasonably priced.

Ive gone forum hopping and the results have always been a god awful buyer who charges an arm and leg for a gun with 1 working mag and 2 broken mags that cant even hold gas and a gun that is in not that great of shape. Or its just flat out not the model i want. I had the chance at getting one of their compact 1911s but the slide was in horrid shape....not worth $70 for the gun and god knows how much for a slide, mags are hard to find for antying that isnt a full size 1911

@RebelPeach Im sorry but the WA has a 6.03mm barrel STOCK, a very consistent FPS at 325-330, and a range of over 100ft accurate without and adjustable hopup, you don't have to deal with it since the hopup is fixed. I would buy a every WA made over another crappy WE/Socom gun. WE/Socom may be metal but its pot metal and junk that will break sooner rather than later.

I have the MEU (SOC) tan gas blowback and the (SOC)MEU Novak Next gas blowback1911. My MEU Novak works fine with green gas but my MEU (SOC) tan one works differently when I put the green gas in it doesn't seem to work properly. Is there some adapter to put the green gas in for the MEU (SOC) tan color? Please helo if you can.

LOL, the real-steel versions of these aren't used by the Marines. The WE-Tech version doesn't have a real brand on it, and the Western Arms version has Kimber trademarks. The MEU(SOC) is a Springfield Armory M1911A1.

green gas is fine on WA that are the carbon finish because the slide is heavy enough to handle green gas, with 134a i dont think you could get more the 5 rounds off a Carbon finish WA because the pressure would be to low because the slide is so damn heavy

The Marines do you use a .45 and 9mm. Theres different divisions within the Marines that have special purposes when deciding handguns. Usually in closed quarters, they stick with the 9mm Beretta becaus it has high mag capcity and is reliable.

They switched because NATO wanted the U.S. Military to compile with NATO's obligation of having a standardized 9x19mm round. NATO decided that the 9mm has less recoil, and smaller size. NATO said that since the round is smaller, troops could stock more rounds. They believe that the more rounds fired into an opposing belligerent would approach more stopping power. They chose the Beretta M9 because its stock magazine holds 20 9mm's.

Nice comparison. But some things are to mention:

1) Don't use Green gas with Western Arms!

2)In terms of upradeability the TM MEU is better basis for built up in term of price.

3) MEU (SOC) Pistol is the official term USMC issued 1911 by Springfield/Caspian. The Marsoc in the real world is the Kimber ICQB Pistol: Interim Close Quarter Battle. it was just a test based on success of Kimber with LAPD SWAT. Small amount ICQBs issued. USMC stays with MEU. Marui copied the latest version.

I have the MEU. It's a nice pistol. Awesome aesthetics, good performance. I can live with 15 rounds because I actually take my time and put accurate shots downrange.

Another reason I love AirsoftGi, they actually know their facts about the Marines. (or at least researched it) most other airsoft companies just say "oh, this is what the Marines use". Tim gave solid, accurate, details on both our Marine Expeditionary Units and MARSOC.
