In 2006, ovals were down to 1(Milwaukee, arguabily one of the most challenging one). In 2007, there were ZERO oval, for 13 road courses. So your "turn left" argument is invalid, I'm affraid.

All I can say is, different drivers shine in different types of motorsports. You can't compare Bourdais to Schumacher... I mean, if Schumacher drove in ChampCar, I don't think he can do as well. So, at the end of the day, all drivers shine in different areas. Maybe Bourdais was never suitable for F1, but we don't know how F1 drivers will suit in Champcar.

Drivers who do well in F1 does not mean they can do well in Champcar/Indycar even though its easier. Actually he didn't do that bad in F1. Toro Rosso as a car didn't fit him very well. There's quite little what you can tweak with your setups in F1 cars. Just like in Ferrari where a worse driver did a lot better this year.
You speak the truth. Bourdais and Vettel were very close at the start of the season, but when Toro Rosso debuted the new car it did not fit Bourdais at all. He said as much to David Hobbs of SpeedTV. Car racing is as much about machinery fitting a drivers style as it is about racing talent. People don't understand this.
Bourdais won 4 championships in a row so even if the cart series is not the pinnacle of motor racing it clearly shows he is a very good and consistent driver and it was not a fluke.
He has not driven as well this year in F1, but in some races he has been on the pace of the new superstar, Vettel. It would be a real shame if he did not get another year in F1. He does deserve it.

En albers kan ook nu weer geen potten breken bij z'n terugkeer in de DTM. Een doornbos had gewoon de champcar kanpioen 2007 kunnen worden. en hij had voor de champcar de award Rookie of the year gekregen. dus ga mij niet vertellen dat alber beter is .punt.

nd no, formula 1 is way different from ChampCar, in formula 1, each team makes their own cars. Each car might look alike from far away but up close, each car is very different.

I am aware that Champcar and F1 are FAR different in many aspects. Not least of which is the fact that when 'Mike' drove the red car, they had impeccable reliability and speed. So much so that no one could touch them. Even the Muppet was fast :)

I did a racing school at Sonoma (Sear Point, Infineon, same place different names) for my B-Day a few years ago. Loved it!

i love champ car and the frenchie pretty much made the sport look bad these last few years.
take notice in the races where he either crashed out or wasnt in contention for the win. in those races, champ car had the best footage when it came to battling for position.

no shit sherlock, this is doornbos's first season. doornbos beated the hell out of bourdais when they were still racing in europe in F3 or something else. Yeah sure Bourdais now gets a seat in F1, but in a crap team i must say. surely that team would prefer robert, but robert wants to battle for a title not just racing. i think bourdais is going to perform nothing, just like in le mans
