  • The Oriental Land Company knows the value of spending money for a great park. It pains me that this park was almost built in Long Beach. That would have been so sweet!

  • I don't get it? Where or what was the ride? I don't really know what I saw!

  • This attraction is a trip based on Jules Verne's classic book!.

  • The line`z too long but soooooooooooooo many less people on it!

  • the line was like 3 people when i went on lol

  • What kind of ride vehicles are they? Do you get lowered into the water?

  • Hi,

i saw your post about the Nemo ride in Tokyo. I went in 2004. the vehicles are made to look like mini subs, approx 6 people and each large window accomodates 2 seats. You are not lowered in any water but the simulation is very good. the windows are double glassed so when the do the bubbles while diving it looks good. While in the queue line and the subs are entering the loading area they are wet and sometimes dripping with water. the best 20,000 leagues ride from any Disney park.

  • Ah, I see. Very cool

  • Nope, the glasses are like this,

I I The first glass and the 2nd glass, between them the bubbles come out

    I I

    I I

  • Im not sure if they do....The ride is very good!! U might like it to check it out! and DISNEYSEA ROCKS!

  • The eel thing that popped out at 5:53 scared me.

  • i'm interested in the appearance of the giant squid.

  • I like how some of my favorite rides at DisneySea nearly kill you off in the ride. But this ride, by far, has probably the scariest close encounter with death because it comes so unexpectedly. Never imagined they'd actually script it that your submarine nearly runs out of oxygen. :)

  • im glad that evey once in a while they would have little tid-bits about the Mysterious Island.. a lot of ppl dont know that it was the sequel to 20,000 leagues under the sea. it was a great book, and it was a mysterious island until the last hundred pages when they figure out its Captain Nemo's island..(actually they find captain nemo..)

  • im glad that Disney kept up with the original books.. 20,000 leagues under the sea wasnt an adventure story. it was just about being under the sea and seeing what it had. it was true science fiction, and now the science fiction of today is just a waste of crap.. im not going to spend $10 on a friggin' star wars book that isnt worth 2..

  • I have to say this is cool, but the Submarine Voyage at DL and 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea at WDW were great. Nemo sucks, and with modern technology the SV and 20k rides could be returned to a more advanced version of their original states.

  • Does this ride still exist or is it now a Nemo attraction?

  • hahaha! lol

  • the ride is still there, not Nemo. Disney Sea attractions don't really follow any disney characters or animated movies but you can see them in the parks in nautical attire and in the parades.

  • Yeah, because, unlike the other parks, DisneySEA is actually not owned by Disney.

  • is this still there

  • yeah.

  • still there.

  • The squid part was when there was a Red Eye thingy

  • So where was the scene where there was like a giant squid?

  • Looks like they incorporated stuff from "Atlantis The Lost Empire"...clever...^___^

  • No they didn't. Alantis was a box-office failure. All of this stuff is probably from the 20k ride that once was at Disney World.

  • I know you guys are complaining about the Finding Nemo Submarine Voyage and all, but I got to ride it on Monday June 4th and despite a few technical difficulties it was really good. I'm not for the Pixarfication of Tomorrowland and hope it stops after this (fat chance), but for the makeover was well done and gets a thumbs up in my book.

  • And as far as 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea at DisneySea goes, I rode it about three weeks ago and I thought it was incredible. It's no Journey to the Center of the Earth but I thought it was great.

  • Looks interesting. :)

  • what day you take video?

  • This was taken in May of 2003. I don't remember the exact day.

  • I think that DisneySea and Disneyland should have a special english sub so that when in the loading area disney cast members should ask if you want the engliash or JP version. At least for the premier attractions.

  • I'm sorry I disagree because we don't expect Disney to do this in the United States for other languages. Don't think that would be fair to the Japanese.

  • thats a long line, not the waiting the walking into it! LOL Great ride looks like so much fun

  • It is a long queue and sometimes it fills up.

  • that is so cool yet again you didnt disapoint me, the overall look at the first part of the video is awesome

  • They could put something like this in DCA :). I heard complaints of the viewing/bending forward, but that didn't bother me at all. Great video. Although I must say video can never do justice for this attraction. Did you take on-ride video later in the day before the park closed so the show lights in the ride are hottest and brightest? Cause I took my video in the morning, and I should have realized that sooner.

  • I wasn't aware the attraction got brighter later in the day. I have an old 8mm camera that does very well in low light situations. I still use it for taping dark rides. It's much better than my digital for dark areas.

  • That's cool.

  • where did you get the music from? I can never seem to find the soundtrack from this movie.

  • This music is off the Tokyo DisneySea soundtrack CD.

  • thanks

  • YAY! I've Been Looking For A Video Of This Attraction!

I Just Fell In Love With It When I Went On It For The 1st Time..

Personally, I Think They Should Have Scrapped The Nemo Subs And Put Something Like This Instead At Disneyland..

  • Absolutely, you get no argument from me.

  • HERE HERE!!! That would of respected the former Submarine Voyage a lot more than installing a theme that was designed to be completely opposite from what it once was. It is pathetic that they have to use Finding Nemo as an excuse to bring back a legend in theme park attractions that could of received just as many people if they would have just kept the former theme.

  • Eh, no thanks. I'd rather not have a clone....

Besides, this ride is kind of boring....The original Submarine Voyage at Disneyland was better than this!

Besides, its been confirmed on the Disneyland Resort podcast that the Nemo subs will have tributes to the original sub voyage. Yes, they DID describe some of them...

  • What do you mean clone? The Submarine Voyage at Disneyland is the original attraction to use 20,000 leagues under the sea. The ones in Tokyo and WDW were mere copies and modified versions of the Submarine Voyage.

  • Well yeah, I know that. But this Tokyo ride is like a drastic departure from the original at Disneyland. And IF Disneyland got it, it would be a clone. I mean, it looks cool and all. But its important for there to be unique things at the parks, and not just to have "franchise" rides that are all alike. If nothing else, I'm glad that DL's subs are coming back.

  • You are right, they shouldn't copy it exactly. What I was thinking was actually restoring the original version, not duplicating the 20,000 leagues attraction in Tokyo.

  • Except that now WDW doesn't have any kind of sub ride there anymore at all :(
