@StraightOutaPortland Not necessarily. A kid at my ski resort got his backpack caught on the chair as he was getting off at a mid station and the lift op was a little slow to stop the lift.... The kid almost died because he was hanging/getting choked 8+ feet above the ground and his straps never broke. He never had any lasting serious injuries but he did get choked out.
