Man, all of your videos are awesome. I just want to know, how do you get these trains on film? Do you have connections with the rail company to know when they come by? The tracks in my town are usually vacant except for twice a day.
I have a scanner, so I can tell when a train is coming. The same trains run around the same time everyday anyways... and there are about 50 a day on this line.
I think the track speed is 50 MPH. Mixed-Freight trains with hazardous restrictions travel slower through towns. Intermodals and locals do track speed, sometimes intermodals speed and do 55 or 60 MPH.
The first and third trains were on the same track, which is track two, the 507 coal train was on track one. The third track at this location is a coal and industrial siding and is not used for through traffic.

ok thx. Woukd there be any chance that these trains like H48 would go through northern KY?
norfolkdash9 4 years ago
Yes, but it wouldn't be called H48, the H stands for Harrisburg division trains, and 48 is just the number given to this certain train.
