This video is NOT the whole song. There is at least another minute to this video. Here it fades off before the video actually finishes. Very disappointing.
This edit hack is a train wreck of the original music video. There are minor edit intrusions midway through this revision, but after about 2:40, all bets are off. Small shock that consumers just adore the recording industry's executive decisions in an internet age — such as making editing decisions which really make little sense to the original recording. It's as if such edits are a product of trying to cram the songs onto a pre-recorded cassette.
@parachuteclubbed This is the original single version, as played on the radio. The album version is longer, but this version is what people remember as the hit song.
@vwest1ife: I don't wish to get into a trivial disagreement about this, and I'm sorry that I must question you. This version is not the 7" version as produced in 1987. Believe me: this was one of my favourite songs in early 1987. There was an original 7", but it was not this. Also, the music video was only produced in one version during that time. MTV, VH-1, and MM played it constantly. Actually, people only acclimated to the single after it was dumped into "Mix" format playlists in the '90s.
@vwest1ife: That is correct. The 7" single is not the same content as this music video in question. They are structurally different. Shy of sitting you down with my music library and playing it in full followed by playing this music video with its different chop-down, there's not much more to add. Incidentally, this music video is even shorter than the 7" version.
Billboard's #76 song of '87. Steve hit #1 AC, #5 rock, #8 pop, in Billboard. God bless, and, Happy new year!

These music videos do not do justice to the album versions of the songs. This was one of my favorite singles from Steve Winwood.

Is it just me or the instrumental segment was edited out? Ah well, it's one of my favorite songs anyway.

@parachuteclubbed The commercial 7" U.S. single is labelled with a duration of 4:00.
