ye the whole stretch of I-95 from NY-CT is just a damn race track people speed and weave in and outta traffic... but id be a hypocrite by sayin i dont do that. im a waterbury native and id go this way sometimes to see ma uncle. i think the worst road ive been on is the van wyck
Thanks for the memories. Used to drive that stretch of I-95 30 years ago. Mianus River bridge collapsed a few years after I moved to Florida. Used to live up near Westchester County airport.
Surprisingly free of traffic! It's interesting to see the different style of driving too. Not keeping right is illegal in Europe unless overtaking and so all those people in the middle lane would be liable for fines!
Still, people in New Zealand drive much like you see in the video, though they overtake on the inside too as that's not illegal here. =(
Technically, passing on the right is illegal in most states (CT for sure) but the middle line is called the "travel lane" and the right lane is the "slow vehicle lane", so the same lane discipline does not apply as in other countries.
This video must have been done on a weekend - on most weekdays, traffic through Stamford and up to Norwalk is crawling slowly. Kind of fun for a 150mph drive on YouTube!
wow looks like fun can i tag along? lol so how to you get to new york from connecticut i mean i know you drive there but like if you want to take transportation what should one use? bus or train?
nice video! this road kinda freaked me out tho, because they have like 3 signs in different parts of the road in connecticut that say "No stopping, correctional facility area"!! lol
From CT to the GW Bridge is a little long for one video, but at some point I will make a video of the George Washington Bridge. It might not be for a while, though.

Yes, the rules of the road in different places is very interesting to compare.

Thanks. This is actually about 280 mph!

Also, the problem is that a lot of people drive slowly in the passing lane which causes problems.

A train would be better. I don't know of any bus that takes you directly to New York. Metro-North's New Haven Line can get you there.

Sweet video. The Metro-North was right where I knew I would see it, after the New York State Thruway tolls in Larchmont/Mamaroneck.
