2010 New York Arm Wrestling Championship

Someone explain to me why it's considered cheating to use a full hand grip without gripping the thumbs? With the legal technique a guy can twist his wrist and lock it and is more of a technique and not total arm strength. I curl 185lbs for reps and have been beat on occasion by guys that cant curl near what I do on a barbell and not even close to what I curl with a dumbbell in which I use 80lbs dumb bells for reps of 8. Explain to me why?

@saultman Because arm wrestling relies on different muscles than just the biceps. The forearms, lats and deltoids are also used as support/stabilizing muscles as well as the biceps for force.

i think arm wrestling is not just about strength but also technique. i have a friend who doesnt even lift weight but is really stronger when it comes to arm wrestling..
