I've watched the "nooma" videos. They have an underlining secular messages in them. This guy is not a christian, but has created his own god. So secular want a be christians can find that feel good god that none scriptural preachers talk about. Not the God of the bible.
In short Mr. Bell is full of mad dogs crap. If your gonna be a rock star work at that and suck it up if you fail. if your gonna be a preacher then at least respect God and people enough to believe His book. Only a self centered narcisist would have the arrogance to delude himself into thinking he is serving God, but calls God a liar by refusing to believe the Bible!.. Peeps stand aside this dude is a prime candidate for lightening bolts....
I guess the issue is settled now that rob bell has a 'book' coming out saying that faith in Jesus Christ is not the only way to Heaven. So, bell, the failed rock star that claims to be a theologeon and teacher of God's Word is simply put, a false teacher that has been doing nothing more than spreading a false doctrine. But, the CEO rob bell will certainly profit nicely from his dumbed down books and the world that doesn't know God will scream it's praises.
I have been studying the original text in the Bible for years aside from church influence and have come to the same points as Rob Bell before knowing about him. I am a historian and can also see many churches today follow erroneous medieval interpretations rather than the original church orthodoxy. I am ready to stand for truth and so are many. And the truth shall set you free. In love.
For others to believe in what you say and in your bible as if they were facts, in today's secular world you have to provide compeling evidences. Believing something does not make it true. You say you are 18. and you look like you act in good faith. But read your bible with open mind, it is just one of the many "sacred" books of humanity and even there you could see that the god pictured in it is a god of wars, racist, murderer of children, and women.A god like many other gods of his time. But:
@jrysocarras: One action says more than thousands of words. So talk no more and show the great power of your god, remember what it would take me to believe in your god, you can start praying wright now:
" If you tell me that your god will undo the damages in Japan in just one hour( he could take a day if he needs more time) and leave everything as if nothing happened, and he does it, I would believe in him, or any other god who would do it.." Until then, all I could say is that you're deluded.
@NAVEGANTESOY I'm sorry for the horribly long-winded response, but I had a lot to say lol. Anyway, I will be praying for you and those who read this to encounter God spiritually and to encounter His love. I can tell you I have, and one second in His presence is more amazing than anything else in this life. Once again, my email is ryan10000max at hotmail dot com. You are all free to email me so we can talk further if you'd like :D. I have several stories I can share about miracles and God's love.
@NAVEGANTESOY I highly recommend you go to a bookstore and read the first chapter of The Case for Faith. It explains it better than I could. (however, I wouldn't recommend the whole book, because there's one part on hell toward the end that is very flawed in its argument; but much of the book is brilliant). Once again, I'm only 18, and I really came to know God 2 years ago. I say that to offer you some perspective into what God has done in my life since I really have known Him.
@NAVEGANTESOY I can tell you that it is all worth it, and that I wouldn't trade a second of my life now for my lifetime before I encountered God. And for those reading and struggling with doubts but afraid to admit it, don't worry. God won't get mad at you for being honest. Ever. A man admitted to Jesus' face in Mark 9:24, "I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!" Just be honest with God. As a conclusion, my arguments may be countered, but they leave room for the possibility of a God.
@NAVEGANTESOY not intellectually. I will be praying for you and all who read to have such an encounter. Cling to God's promise in Jeremiah 29:13: "You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart." Ask God to reveal Himself to you. But ask Him with a sincere heart and not out of pride or a "prove me wrong!" attitude. Don't challenge God. But be sincere with Him and say, "God, please chow me Who You are." And He will; He promises it. It took me 9 months of desperate seeking, but
@NAVEGANTESOY 5 “I have heard of You by the hearing of the ear, But now my eye sees You. 6 Therefore I abhor myself, And repent in dust and ashes.”
As with rhetoric, my arguments can be countered by other arguments. I can counter those arguments again, but I can then be countered again. The fact is that rhetoric can only suffice to intellectually allow for God and allow for the possibility that He exists. It is of the utmost importance to note that we encounter God spiritually,
Dr. Peter Kreeft put it this way: "Imagine a bear in a trap and a hunter who, out of sympathy, wants to liberate him. He tries to win the bear's confidence, but he can't do it, so he has to shoot the bear full of drugs. The bear, however, thinks this is an attack and that the hunter is trying to kill him. He doesn't realize this is being done out of compassion (p. 43)." He says right before, "How can a mere finite human be sure that infinite wisdom would not tolerate...
@jrysocarras:claims similar to yours, Science has already put to the text in hospitals with no result.I ask you for something simple for an all powerful god, for example we all have seen what happened in Japan, if I had the power, in 2 minutes I would restore everything, every life of children, adults, animals... If you tell me that your god will undo the damages in just one hour and leave everything as if nothing happened, and he does it, I would believe in him and so would the rest of humanity.
@NAVEGANTESOY To tackle the first part of your reply, what has science proved in hospitals? That prayer doesn't work? I would argue that the person doing the praying has a significant impact on the study, for as the Bible says in James 5:16b, "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." It also says in I John 5:14b, "That if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us."
So we have here two guidelines for effective prayer: 1) be righteous
@jrysocarras My time of suffering was one of the most beautiful times of my life, and I am grateful to God for putting me through that suffering. I know my suffering is not the same kind of suffering others elsewhere in the world- such as those in Japan- are faced with. But suffering is suffering. My suffering brought about more good than I could have ever imagined before or during that time. I just had to trust God that there was a reason for that pain. In the Case for Faith by Lee Strobel,
@jrysocarras one million? you can't put a number to suffering. It can't be quantified. And this is where we humans must say, "Though I can't understand why, I know that maybe there is a being out there does." And we find ourselves playing the role of the bear in the hunter's trap. It may seem like the hunter is harming us by sticking us deeper into the trap, but he has to do so to allow the springs in the trap to release and then set us free. But as the bear, we can't understand what the human
@jrysocarras is doing until we are finally set free. But we have a choice: Are we going to choose to complain during the suffering- even when the hunter is pushing us deeper and deeper into the trap-, or are we going to choose to believe that everything is happening for a definite and beautiful reason? Our attitudes and even our levels of faith dictate how we respond to suffering- hopelessly or hopefully, joyfully or woefully. We must acknowledge that we are not as wise as God.
@jrysocarras The entire book of Job, but especially from 31 onward, describes the riveting account of a good man who lost basically everything except his wife. He asked the same question we're asking today. Why do bad things happen to good people. And in his time of most suffering, he could not understand at all why the things that happened to him were happening. But after God spoke to him in the end, everything changed. He said in Job 42:5-6
@NAVEGANTESOY and 2) pray in accordance with God's will, which can only be done as you let the Holy Spirit direct your prayers. (As a side note, though I was not born righteous, I now am made righteous, for righteousness is a gift of God see Romans 3:10, 3:22, and 5:17)
The following is one such example I can offer to illustrate effective prayer. The other day I felt the need to pray for a friend's mother. I had not talked to that friend in several months, but the very next day she texted me.
@NAVEGANTESOY I was surprised and then told her that I had felt the need to pray for her mom the night before. She was surprised and told me that she was extremely thankful because there was something serious going on with her mom. Similar events occur frequently with me.
But what about the story of my friend and the demons? I don't wish to discredit you or put you down, but for the sake of rhetoric, How can the be reconciled with science? They tried to kill me but were completely unable.
@jrysocarras ...certain short-range evils in order for more long-range goods that we couldn't foresee?" This fact at least allows for the possibility that maybe there is a reason for all the pain. Logically, you must at least admit that possibility. The temptation is to say, "But why is there SO MUCH suffering?" But think of this: when does suffering become too much? As Dr. Kreeft said in TCFF, is it when 6 Jews die in the holocaust instead of 7, or 999 instead of 1000, or 999,999 instead of
All gods are imaginary, including Jesus. The Bible was written and rewritten lots of time, so there could be not certainty about what the real life and words of Jesus, if he ever existed, were. Some people want to impose their believe and their bible as if there were facts, and they think they don't have to provide any evidence. Believing something does not make it true. According to the bible, Jesus performed lots of miracles to prove that he was for real, so to any one don't say word, prove
I seen miracles all the time. I've seen people have a broken finger and start moving it, and I've seen people walk in a room with a hurt knee, get prayed over, and walk out without a hurt knee.My friend used to have flat feat but told me that they prayed for her and that as they did, the arch in her feat started forming. I've also seen other kinds of miracles. You can email me at ryan10000max @ gmail . com, and I'll tell you all the stories of the miracles I've seen.
@jrysocarras sorry, my email is ryan10000max @ hotmail . com.
By the way, some other miracles I have seen include deliverance from a few cases of demonic oppression/possession (demons were speaking through a close friend of mine once, and he even tried to kill me, but instead of getting scared ((I felt no fear AT ALL, which is in and of itself a miracle)), I simply prayed. He could not harm me one bit. The demons always submitted to Jesus' name).
@jrysocarras Aww fail I spelled "feet" as "feat". Ignore that. But yea, I'm not trying to boast in things I've done or seen; rather, I boast in God. I'm just trying to show proof of God's power and validation of His existence.
@jrysocarras And now the second part of your response: Why does a loving God allow bad things to happen? It's a honest question, no doubt. On a personal level, I asked God once to put me through whatever He needed to put me through to make me the man He needed me to be. I can tell you that after that, I suffered in ways that most people won't ever suffer. But if I had the power to change my past, I would never even think twice about doing so.
You are all infected with a virus of the mind: the Christian memeplex. You are being used by the memes so that they can spread. That doesn't mean that they are valid. They are just a complex of ideas you were exposed to when you were young.
@iamspid3rman explain yourself please. As a member of Mars Hill, I think i have an obligation to defend the man who inspired my belief in God, and the man who changed my life.
@iamspid3rman Indeed I have. i don't agree with everything he says either\, but does that justify calling him an idiot? simply because you disagree with another on their beliefs on religion, God, or their interpretation on the scriptures doesn't warrant name calling or condescending comments.
@georgeforeman89 Lets find out...idot:an utterly foolish or senseless person. Hmm I think it fits and therefore is not improper name calling as you say. At least, Rob Bell is false teacher. I don't disagree with him the Scriptures do.Congrats that he lead to Christ, but nonetheless he's an idiot.
So he has no theological training.....he talks a lot about what he has done and not what God has been doing in his life and ministry. Anyone can do something successful! Imagine what you could do with God in the pilot seat??!??!!
2 Timothy 4:3-4 (New American Standard Bible) 3For (A)the time will come when they will not endure (B)sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4and (C)will turn away their ears from the truth and (D)will turn aside to myths
I find it interesting how so many people call themselves "Christians" and are so hateful and judgmental, two themes of which the Bible I read does not support.
It's funny because on one end of the spectrum you have pastors who are just concerned about their wealth and their name in lights...then on the other end you have pastors who are more concerned about being cool and overly relevent to the point of conformity to this postmodern society. GOD SAVE THE CHURCH FROM THESE HEATHENISTIC VULTURES!!!
i think God calls different people to peak to different groups. Rob Bell really resonates with people who are artistically inclined. He does a great job of getting to the raw essence of the Gospel. We can't neglect our craving for beauty and he (i believe) is moved by the spirit of God to reach that world and show them that they find beauty and truth's fulfillment in Christ. the drops like stars sermon really touched me and revealed the Glory of God to me and others.
@namasteywhat No, and I will reply to comments from misled rob bell fans and especially misguided liberal canadians. I will defend Christ and the truth. Bell teaches an altered version of the Bible, making him a false teacher.
@forlife01 From visiting your youtube page, it is plain to see you are lost and need Christ. The music you listen to and the filthy language simply mirror a lost soul in today's vile culture.I have no agenda, what the infallible truth of the scriptures tells a believer to do is point out false teachers, which bell is.And,I will criticize liberals. The liberal agenda has ruined many once great countries and it is now infecting America....You even judge usernames? summa could also be an acronym.
@aoiahiru Well actually, the Bible is totally 100% the Word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit and penned by humans. Not one word is human opinion or it would not have been put in. The argument that it is written by fallible people simply gives the rob bells of the world freedom to inject their personal and non Biblical opinions. These opinions are what make them false teachers which we are told to point out as we flee from them.
@aoiahiru Bell preaches a universalist religion. He has made many bizarre
statements contradicting the Bible. This puts him in opposition to God...right.If so, the multitude of people he is leading are going down that broad path and not the narrow true way.Pray for all of them, they are deceived. God is big enough to demand you live by and teach His Word in season and out. When you stray from it and make things up on the fly, as Bell does, are you not 'playing God.'
@aoiahiru In his book Velvet Elvis, he says, "Central to the Christian experience is the art of questioning God." Questions are rooted in humility and bring freedom. Does that imply that believing without a doubt is arrogant and restrictive? He quotes with approval the great modern theologian, Sean Penn, who said, "When everything gets answered, it's fake. The mystery is the truth." Bell seems to say that doubt is a virtue. Rob Bell needs Jesus.
Whatever you might say about Rob Bell the simple fact is this: when it comes down to it he's a christian and he's trying to futher the kingdom of god, i really dought his intentions is to start his own religion or anything like, all of the rob bell haters need to calm down and get a life, worry about your own spirtual life, and quit bashing others. especially someone who is doing as much good as him.
@aoiahiru Read up on the 'emergent ' and/or the 'emerging' church. Bell, and his buds, are just creating a God in their own image. Christianity is and was spread by preaching the Gospel, all of it. Reinventing it in humanistic terms only divides. Besides that, did you know Bell actually called sean penn a theologeon... incredible! rock on Rob and pick up your Bible.
Ahhhh, Rob Bell. He failed at music and did not find his dream of being a 'rock star' so he pulls an L. Ron Hubbard and starts his own religion snatching the money out of the pockets of goats begging for something different.... rock on Rob!
@naciamaJYute Everyone becomes a preacher because they are reborn then called. I know my goal became the priesthood (preacher, for you evangelical westerners who may think I am Catholic; I am not Catholic) once I was converted. I changed, my goals changed, my love of God was the biggest thing in my life.
Growing up I grew up in a church that was lead by a false teacher. I'm not sure what about Rob Bell makes you believe he's one himself, but it would seem that you may need to further your study of the Word. It's quite refreshing to finally see someone who focuses on the relationship with Christ being the defining point instead of the political nature of religion that we waste so much time on.
It's terrible is that he can call himself a pastor and people flock to him by the thousands and think he's great, when he has absolutely no idea of who God is! This video is extremely telling for anybody that has discernment. He is self-centred and does his own thing, when true Christianity is to be Christ centred and to do HIS will. You do NOT go into the ministry unless HE calls to to, you do Not interpret things in your own wisdom but by the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
@solaveritas2 Who is to say that allowing him to be put in the situation that he was in is what actually got him into becoming a pastor was not gods way of showing him his true calling in life is... Who are we to tell God how he is going to show us his plans...
@Phoenix6592 Bell says he doesn't view doctrine as essential to the Christian faith. How could any true Christian agree with such a misinformed statement? Bell called Sean Penn "one of the great theologians of our time." Sean Penn? Insane! Sean Penn is a Kabbalist, not a Christian. Bell says, "We must keep reforming the way the Christian faith is defined." Compare this to the Bible: "Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Only Biblically ignorant people could follow this heretic.
@summa1129 The Church has never been this insane....Even the gnostics of the first few centuries lived far holier lives, even with an insanely distorted view of Christ.
God cannot tolerate much more of this....it has never been this wicked on such a wide scale....
@summa1129 Yeah, because Jesus wasn't about changing the way things are done or anything. He only criticized the Pharisees and religion as a whole to get attention.
If you can't see the holy in anything outside your little church bubble then I am sad for you. So what if Sean Penn is a kabbalist? Truth is truth.
@schizoidali Jesus was God in the flesh as a sacrificial payment of your sin and mine. If you want to call truth that which is not truth you disrespect that payment. Kabbalah is not Christian in any respect... Sean Penn is not a Christian. There is only one way and that is through Christ.BTW, I can't see the holy in anything outside of my little Bible. The Bible is God's word complete. Rob Bell and the other emergents simply make up whatever sounds good disregarding truth.
@schizoidali So, sean penn speaks truth through a non christian religion and rob bell calls penn a theologeon. They are lost.Understand, Jesus was a sacrifice. He didn't come here simply to change the culture of the time and come to make us happy. I don't understand your reference to 'church bubble' but what is outside of my Bible is a culture embracing a universalist religion where bell says there are many roads to Heaven and not just through Christ. That is false teaching.
Doctrine isn't essential to the Christian faith; being well-grounded in the Bible is. In the Bible, Paul had many followers, but so did Apollos. I Corinthians 3:4-5 says:
"4For when one says, “I follow Paul,” and another, “I follow Apollos,” are you not mere men?
5What, after all, is Apollos? And what is Paul? Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task."
@summa1129 I don't know much about Sean Penn at all, but in defense of Rob Bell, you can be a great Muslim theologian, a great Christian theologian, and a great Jewish Kabbalist theologian. From what I understand, Kabbalah "is a discipline and school of thought concerned with the mystical aspect of Rabbinic Judaism" (Wikipedia). I may be Christian, but I still have to acknowledge a great theologian when I see one. Christians may agree with some things Jewish theologians say, but not all.
@mrdanface Yes, I am sure that Christians that put forth the true gospel and the true Christ message are laughed at by Rob Bell and his followers. But the truth is, Christians don't laugh back at you, we mourn for the false teaching and the deception that is spewed from Bell and his cohorts.
@summa1129 you assume its derisive laughter, which is i guess what you would be used to. I laugh because of the irony of the overtly blind scorning others of their blindness. I laugh because there is nothing effectual that can be said to such a person.
@mrdanface Your pretentious laughter is understood. However, anyone who loves Christ mourns when the overtly blind such as bell deceive people with twisted theology. Rob Bell is simply a false teacher and not a very bright man although he is creative.
@summa1129 Have you ever actually listened to him teach. He teaches a grace based faith, not an emotionless list of do's and dont's. He stresses a personal relationship with god if you can show me where in scripture that classifies him as a heretic then I will be more willing to listen to your objections to him as a christian...
@Phoenix6592 So, the Ten Commandments are an emotionless list of do's and don'ts according to you. Was Paul passing judgment pointing out false teachers? No, he was warning believers to stay with the one true Gospel of Jesus Christ because when you let so called pastors divert from the true Word and merge it with Humanism and liberal theology, you will get a compromised version leading the multitudes to Hell. For your sake, seek the true Gospel., just read your Bible. You will see.
What a different gospel he preaches, as Paul put it. This guy needs to be called out for what he is... a heretic and a false teacher. With that said, it is not the real Jesus and God he preaches but a different Jesus. So, you can only conclude he is an agent of satan heading up the Mars Hill church of satan.
He was in a band looking for what... why do people play in bands? I know why because I was in a successful one, I would leave the knowledge here but 99 out of 100 would reject it because you are not open to it or ready for it. (Yes I know Gospel is spell wrong in my channel name, but you get the point.)

In the Case for Faith by Lee Strobel,
jrysocarras 11 months ago
@jrysocarras one million? you can't put a number to suffering. It can't be quantified. And this is where we humans must say, "Though I can't understand why, I know that maybe there is a being out there does." And we find ourselves playing the role of the bear in the hunter's trap. It may seem like the hunter is harming us by sticking us deeper into the trap, but he has to do so to allow the springs in the trap to release and then set us free. But as the bear, we can't understand what the human
jrysocarras 11 months ago
@jrysocarras is doing until we are finally set free. But we have a choice: Are we going to choose to complain during the suffering- even when the hunter is pushing us deeper and deeper into the trap-, or are we going to choose to believe that everything is happening for a definite and beautiful reason? Our attitudes and even our levels of faith dictate how we respond to suffering- hopelessly or hopefully, joyfully or woefully. We must acknowledge that we are not as wise as God.
jrysocarras 11 months ago
@jrysocarras The entire book of Job, but especially from 31 onward, describes the riveting account of a good man who lost basically everything except his wife. He asked the same question we're asking today. Why do bad things happen to good people. And in his time of most suffering, he could not understand at all why the things that happened to him were happening. But after God spoke to him in the end, everything changed. He said in Job 42:5-6
jrysocarras 11 months ago
@NAVEGANTESOY and 2) pray in accordance with God's will, which can only be done as you let the Holy Spirit direct your prayers. (As a side note, though I was not born righteous, I now am made righteous, for righteousness is a gift of God see Romans 3:10, 3:22, and 5:17)
The following is one such example I can offer to illustrate effective prayer. The other day I felt the need to pray for a friend's mother. I had not talked to that friend in several months, but the very next day she texted me.
jrysocarras 11 months ago

NAVEGANTESOY 11 months ago
@NAVEGANTESOY
You can email me at ryan10000max @ gmail . com, and I'll tell you all the stories of the miracles I've seen.
jrysocarras 11 months ago
@jrysocarras sorry, my email is ryan10000max @ hotmail . com.
By the way, some other miracles I have seen include deliverance from a few cases of demonic oppression/possession (demons were speaking through a close friend of mine once, and he even tried to kill me, but instead of getting scared ((I felt no fear AT ALL, which is in and of itself a miracle)), I simply prayed. He could not harm me one bit. The demons always submitted to Jesus' name).
So you know, I'm only 18. All glory to God.
jrysocarras 11 months ago
@jrysocarras Aww fail I spelled "feet" as "feat". Ignore that. But yea, I'm not trying to boast in things I've done or seen; rather, I boast in God. I'm just trying to show proof of God's power and validation of His existence.
jrysocarras 11 months ago
@jrysocarras And now the second part of your response: Why does a loving God allow bad things to happen? It's a honest question, no doubt. On a personal level, I asked God once to put me through whatever He needed to put me through to make me the man He needed me to be. I can tell you that after that, I suffered in ways that most people won't ever suffer. But if I had the power to change my past, I would never even think twice about doing so.

I don't disagree with him the Scriptures do.Congrats that he lead to Christ, but nonetheless he's an idiot.

i think God calls different people to peak to different groups.

You were right to call out my distasteful language. I hope you can accept my apology, I was being very hypocritical.
forlife01 7 months ago
@aoiahiru Well actually, the Bible is totally 100% the Word of God inspired by the Holy Spirit and penned by humans. Not one word is human opinion or it would not have been put in. The argument that it is written by fallible people simply gives the rob bells of the world freedom to inject their personal and non Biblical opinions. These opinions are what make them false teachers which we are told to point out as we flee from them.
summa1129 1 year ago
@aoiahiru Bell preaches a universalist religion. He has made many bizarre
statements contradicting the Bible. This puts him in opposition to God...right.If so, the multitude of people he is leading are going down that broad path and not the narrow true way.Pray for all of them, they are deceived. God is big enough to demand you live by and teach His Word in season and out. When you stray from it and make things up on the fly, as Bell does, are you not 'playing God.'
summa1129 1 year ago

Growing up I grew up in a church that was lead by a false teacher. I'm not sure what about Rob Bell makes you believe he's one himself, but it would seem that you may need to further your study of the Word. It's quite refreshing to finally see someone who focuses on the relationship with Christ being the defining point instead of the political nature of religion that we waste so much time on.
slickmagee21 1 year ago
It's terrible is that he can call himself a pastor and people flock to him by the thousands and think he's great, when he has absolutely no idea of who God is! This video is extremely telling for anybody that has discernment. He is self-centred and does his own thing, when true Christianity is to be Christ centred and to do HIS will. You do NOT go into the ministry unless HE calls to to, you do Not interpret things in your own wisdom but by the revelation of the Holy Spirit.
People...RUN!!

Phoenix6592 1 year ago
@Phoenix6592 Bell says he doesn't view doctrine as essential to the Christian faith. How could any true Christian agree with such a misinformed statement? Bell called Sean Penn "one of the great theologians of our time." Sean Penn? Insane! Sean Penn is a Kabbalist, not a Christian. Bell says, "We must keep reforming the way the Christian faith is defined." Compare this to the Bible: "Jesus is the same yesterday, today, and forever." Only Biblically ignorant people could follow this heretic.
summa1129 1 year ago 4
@summa1129 The Church has never been this insane....Even the gnostics of the first few centuries lived far holier lives, even with an insanely distorted view of Christ.
God cannot tolerate much more of this....it has never been this wicked on such a wide scale....
Icannottolerateit 1 year ago
@summa1129 Yeah, because Jesus wasn't about changing the way things are done or anything. He only criticized the Pharisees and religion as a whole to get attention.
If you can't see the holy in anything outside your little church bubble then I am sad for you. So what if Sean Penn is a kabbalist? Truth is truth.
schizoidali 1 year ago
@schizoidali Jesus was God in the flesh as a sacrificial payment of your sin and mine. If you want to call truth that which is not truth you disrespect that payment. Kabbalah is not Christian in any respect... Sean Penn is not a Christian. There is only one way and that is through Christ.BTW, I can't see the holy in anything outside of my little Bible. The Bible is God's word complete. Rob Bell and the other emergents simply make up whatever sounds good disregarding truth.
berean1129 1 year ago
@schizoidali So, sean penn speaks truth through a non christian religion and rob bell calls penn a theologeon. They are lost.Understand, Jesus was a sacrifice. He didn't come here simply to change the culture of the time and come to make us happy. I don't understand your reference to 'church bubble' but what is outside of my Bible is a culture embracing a universalist religion where bell says there are many roads to Heaven and not just through Christ. That is false teaching.
summa1129 1 year ago
@summa1129
Only servants, through whom you came to believe—as the Lord has assigned to each his task."
jrysocarras 11 months ago
@summa1129 I don't know much about Sean Penn at all, but in defense of Rob Bell, you can be a great Muslim theologian, a great Christian theologian, and a great Jewish Kabbalist theologian. From what I understand, Kabbalah "is a discipline and school of thought concerned with the mystical aspect of Rabbinic Judaism" (Wikipedia). I may be Christian, but I still have to acknowledge a great theologian when I see one. Christians may agree with some things Jewish theologians say, but not all.
jrysocarras 11 months ago
@summa1129 ...do you have a quote of him saying that about the doctrine?

mrdanface 8 months ago
@mrdanface Yes, I am sure that Christians that put forth the true gospel and the true Christ message are laughed at by Rob Bell and his followers. But the truth is, Christians don't laugh back at you, we mourn for the false teaching and the deception that is spewed from Bell and his cohorts.
summa1129 7 months ago
@summa1129 you assume its derisive laughter, which is i guess what you would be used to. I laugh because of the irony of the overtly blind scorning others of their blindness. I laugh because there is nothing effectual that can be said to such a person.
mrdanface 7 months ago
@mrdanface Your pretentious laughter is understood. However, anyone who loves Christ mourns when the overtly blind such as bell deceive people with twisted theology. Rob Bell is simply a false teacher and not a very bright man although he is creative.
summa1129 7 months ago
You might want to "rethink" applying that verse to my comment on Mr.
Bell. It is not passing judgment to point out false teachers and Mr. Bell is a
false teacher. He teaches a little bit of the Gospel, a little bit of
carnality, and a great deal of myth. So, if you want to apply the Bible to Mr. Bell:
"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing,
but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

Phoenix6592 1 year ago
@Phoenix6592 So, the Ten Commandments are an emotionless list of do's and don'ts according to you. Was Paul passing judgment pointing out false teachers? No, he was warning believers to stay with the one true Gospel of Jesus Christ because when you let so called pastors divert from the true Word and merge it with Humanism and liberal theology, you will get a compromised version leading the multitudes to Hell. For your sake, seek the true Gospel., just read your Bible. You will see.
