  • I'd love the music as a ringtone.

  • This means you all must surrender to me!

  • I'd put my ace in her hole.

  • First video game I beat in my life. Classic.

  • @downtobring seriously?! snes version?!

  • xDD This blue coloured things voice reminds me of Andross xD

  • Ummm Dirk is from Dragon's Lair. Ace Dexter is the hero in Space Ace.

  • I'm wodering how can Space Ace and the princess breathe in outer space when they are, indeed, human. How can they breathe without oxygen tanks? Hmmmm!!

  • cool

  • There are bits of this that remind me of all dogs go to heaven ... like there expressions .... like 0:18 is that pink puppy

  • Kimberly needs to get a taste

  • I NEVER understood a word Borf said... "ggggg hfgfhfh..to me" Bleh.. :P

  • @rangerkom earthlings must surrender to me haha

  • Its awesome that Don Bluth voices Borf.

  • I've never even played any of the Don Bluth video games. :(

  • Dexter was unstoppable once he got the roid rage goin

  • Dexter sounds like Eminem after he gets hit by the ray

  • I used to have this on 3.5" floppy believe it or not. It came on a stack of disks and was horribly compressed. I loved it tho. Then I was really glad when I got it on cd-rom for Windows95...lol.

  • [Borf] "Earthlings must surrender to ME!"

[Dexter] "No way, Borf ol' buddy. Ahhhh! I've been hit!"

    [Kimberly] "By the Infanto Ray!"

[Borf] "Earthlings must surrender to ME!"

[Dexter] "OK, I heard you the FIRST f*ckin' time..." lol

  • Sigh......I've been hit.... AAAAAAAHHHHHH!

  • Damn trailers have come a long way

  • God I loved those games.

  • I wish they had given the Voice credits on this. The sound and foley work are superior to almost everything even today.

  • @crispycritterz Don Bluth did the voice for Borf. Other developers of the project did the other voices.

  • I once played this in an arcade (ONCE) and could never beat one stage.

  • looks like the genie

  • Not only the animation, but the music is awesome too. A beautiful send-up/tribute to the sci-fi shows of the 50s, unapologetically epic and fantasical. I only need to hear the opening trumpets of Ace's theme and I get all nostalgic.

  • Don Bluth is an animation warrior!

  • I miss that old game.

  • He lost his mojo ha ha lol

  • Man, I miss the Don Bluth animation style. Very beautiful. I never played this game, but, I would always watch this part of the game at the arcade. Maybe, there's still hope if the game still exists in someone's arcade somewhere.

  • You need 4 Minutes, to beat that game, but payed a 100 DM. LOL

  • I still have this game somwhere ^^

  • loved this game to death when I was kid

  • @NorfairPrince

Translation: You suck at this game.

  • Try to play the SNES version. XD

    It really sucks.

I've never played the PC version, but the SNES one is one of the worst SNES game ever.

  • @NorfairPrince

I don't consider those real games. I only base it by the originals. You should really try playing them.

  • @NorfairPrince

The later PC versions were better... including the incorrect moves that were in the actual arcade game.

  • Man!! These were the days!!

    Space Ace

    Dragon Slayer

    Cliff Hanger

    Cobra Command

Did I miss anything? They were all really cool games.

  • have always loved this game! there is also a brand new game on the app store from Don Bluth - my review is on youtube here also - search "animators of space ace and dragons lair release new game" Its called Banjo the woodpile cat :)

  • quoth Commander Borf from the game:

    "You will looooooooose!"

    and boy, will you!

  • I miss the 80's.

  • EARTHLINGS MUST SURRENDER TO ME!!

  • I remember playing this in the arcade way back when. I never did beat it though. Loved playing it though.

  • In your video description you have "Dirk and Kimberly".. Space Ace had Dexter and Kimberly.... Dirk was "Dragon's Lair"

  • @Jazzy9964 +1

  • ah, i wish i was around when these first came out, they were the true gaming experience nowadays they are all really just about graphics and realism, i really appreciate games like these and more people should know about them.

  • I'm 16 and still enjoy these games, they had the best animation ever!!!

  • KIMMY IS FUCKING HOT! Damn Did I Just Say That Or...Type That? FUCK IT I STAND BEHIND MY COMMENT! LOL.

  • All of Don Bluth's cartoon women are hot, even Mrs. Brisby!

  • In an interview for the last release of Dragon's Lair he explains why they look the way that they do. It's pretty funny.

  • either this game was a joke or the creators where in a tight spot to keep buget money for the TV show (which was doomed to fail)

  • i remember that game!

i never knew, there where a tv-serie thought.

    Kimberly was nice to...

  • it's either the name or the attitude.. that could create such a monster..

  • lol YES

  • I love Don Bluth's style

  • @Melvinflynt

he did a smart thing in leaving Disney, but was dumb in leaving Spielburg

  • @TheChoujinVirus is he also the animators of The Land Before Time?

  • Haha, "Too gain his manhood." Nice slogan.

  • @AceDevilProductions

That's exactly what popped into my mind, as well.

  • @AceDevilProductions its terrible hahahah

all i can think of when i hear it is premature ejaculation

because right after im done laughing he screams at 0:37 and she pops ahahah

  • They could put all these on one blue ray if they really wanted... I own Dragon's Lair 1 for Blue Ray, and believe it or not there is no substitute for the good ol' fashioned laser disc. The Blu-Ray freezes and glitches way too often, and the game options do not work at all. I want to get Dragon's Lair 2 someday to experience playing that classic at home, but if it suffers the same hiccups it may not be worth the money.

  • @Djclyve I agree. I wonder if Cinematronics could make the laserdisc game work on a Panasonic Laserdisc player for home back in 1983.

  • Used to have this for an older computer, unfortunately I never got to play the arcade version. It would be a horrible quarter stealer...

  • Just bought it for my brand new iPhone 3GS... good memories from 80s!!! GET ME OUT OF HEREEEEEEEEE!!! lol

  • Don Bluth's a GAWD

  • Don Bluth now has his own YouTube channel ! He has some great content including beta projects that never happened. Can you catch the stuff that did carry on into Dragon's Lair Time Warp!

    youtube.

    com/watch?v=p6uUMPoynRc

  • Awesome 80s

  • Comment removed

  • I think I could see this hitting Virtual Console Arcade, but it would be a REAL Long-Shot. I mean, you can get it in HD.

  • regain his manhood, lol

  • Very Nice!

But the main characters' name is Dexter

  • COOL

  • I played this and Dragon's Lair constantly at the arcades back in the 80's. I still remember the joystick moves every time I see footage. :)

  • I played this in the arcade on the hardest level and won on 1 quarter. I always used to see how long I could remain as Dexter in the final stage.

  • Awsome game! I played this when it came out.

Defeated it to, took awhile though its a Hard Game

  • ah -_-; My inner lesbian comes through when it comes to Kimberly -_-;;

  • "I've been hit!...AUUUUUUGH!!!"

  • Video Info, you got Dirk and Kimberly? I think Dirk was in Dragon's Lair. Dexter is Space Ace.

  • yeah, this got re-released on blu-ray this week... i saw it on the shelf and went

    ZOMG :D :D :D :D :D!!!!!!! WOWZERS!!!

just play it with yer blu-ray remote (or dualshock) and play in glorious amazing animation 1080p 5.1 surround.... if oly i had a blu-ray player, lol

  • How is the gameplay for the PC? Is it emulated from the arcade? I thinking of buying it. Thanks.

  • Note: Michael Rye as narrator (aka Green Lantern on Superfriends) And note Kimberly's habit of stating the obvious :-)

  • Ok so why does this say HD, it's the standard game opening in non HD

  • I wish I had an Infant-o-ray!

Anybody gives me a hard time:

    ZOWNT! (Aaaah! I've been hit!)

  • My hat goes off to you, good sir

  • Defender of justice, truth, and the Planet Earth!

  • I played this allot growing up and it was kick ass!

  • DON BLUTH FTW.

  • He's my hero and still kickin!

  • ha, I came here to see if bluth was the one reponsible for this badass animation.I guess u anwsered it with ur comment. thanks

  • Memories(singing) oh gosh darn it.

  • Hell Yeah!

  • I love this game!

  • I used to love playing this in the arcade in penn station (Manhattan) back in the days.

  • These type of games were ahead of their time.

  • Kimberly's face at 0:17 resembles Mrs. Brisby's from "The Secret of NIMH", same animator no doubt. ; )

  • yep--both were done by Don Bluth, who did NIMH, Dragon's Lair, and American Tail

  • If I was dreaming, this would make perfect sense. But, unfortunately, I'm not. He tells the guy shooting at him to hold his fire. He says he's been hit before he actually gets hit. Borf says the same line twice. Then theres the infanto ray...

  • Check out the sequel game I started to make a few years back, 'Kimberlys Quest' here on YouTube!

  • it sucks

  • Space Ace himself has an incredibly voluptuous body. Look at that butt and those legs!

  • His scream when he gets hit somehow makes me crack up every single time I hear it!!!

    "I've been hit...WAAAAAAAHHHH!!!!"

  • Fuck that Kimmy is hot! ^_^

Alot of sweet pantie shot in this game if you look carfully.

  • Rule 34 anyone? ;)

  • dude you need to get out more

  • Totally disregards the Adult Conspiracy.
