Its not absolutely neccesary our always true that humans must have evolve, the could also be other highly intelligent such as angels, in fact, there are other. @cutiko Misato clearly states in an episode that the angels are what Humanity COULD'VE BEEN. That is evidence that they are another form Humanity could've become. Plus, if you were actually old enough to understand this anime, you would've noticed that the series is about Shinji trying to form relationships with Misato, his father, Rei, Asuka, Toji, and Kensuke. Not all of these go perfectly, and some characters die and hate each other. Almost every character ends up with mental problems. 2/2

but I learned to appreciate life more and the company of others

I was depressed because I thought I was alone, that no one truly cared. I tried to hide it and continue with life but I never felt right

Now I see things differently and my depression is gone

but what truly scared me was this series kept bringing that lonely felling back up and forced me to deal with it

@trekki859 I love it, but i just don't get a lot of it. Bio-mechanical robots eating a pure metal being? In one part of the series, Shinji completes the project (can't remember the name), and creates his own world. After though, he decides to keep things the way they were, but then it just shows a bunch of people going "Congratulations!". A couple months later, i watch the second movie, and now everybody dies and Shinji becomes a tree?! wtf?! Then Auska comes back, and it ends. Thats confusing.

@xlr8442 first off the reason the first ending was so mind fuckage was because the budget ran out so the couldint do much, but the second ending the tree is symbolic its suposed to be the tree of life as shinji became god. and he decied that everyone should die, so he would never be alone agian, but he realises his folly and fixes it, and as to the ending theres much speculation onw weither or not shinji and auska are the only people alive or weither or not everyone else is to. and

@xlr8442 and as for the single line before it finishes it was improvised, the original line was something along the lines of, "i will never allow an idiot like you kill me" or somesuch but it wasint working so the voice actress just improvised, and it turned out well. like i siad, you have to think about it, it took me quite a while and a lot of resserch to figure that all out

It's better as a cliffhanger to me because you decide how you want to interpret the ending. What do you think happened? Did Shinji and Asuka become the new Adam and Eve? Or did the rest of the spirits find a reason for existence and become human again? Was Yui Ikari returned to life? You tell me.

@TheNarwhal7 Yea cause the only time there was Reigod blood on the moon was in EoE. Also during the series the oceans are blue and are only red in EoE, but in Rebuild the oceans start out red. Also since it is the "Rebuild" series, and the definition of rebuild is "Build (something) again after it has been destroyed", something being the world that was destroyed in EoE and it had to start over again. Also Anno likes to keep repeating things over again to tell the story as seen in the series.

I just watch all of the series in 2 days and I kind of like it, though...But the only thing confuse me is that Why the NERV chose the 14 years old children to pilot the Eva....anyone can be a pilot and adult is even more efficient but why children has to do some combat? Is this because of their personality that syncronize to the Eva or something else?

well, i suppose its all about the merging of all sentient beings into one (the big "rei" creature we see") but shinji, being the one in control of it all, since he pilots the evangelion, chooses to disrupt this mergins, thus breaking out of the process. He and Asuka ends up on the beach, and you know the rest. Its important to note that the creator of the series and the film wishes us to create out own interpretation and meaning of the movie
