  • what is going on on your ceiling? DIRTY.

  • that"s awsome man, thanks

  • Where do you think I could get a 1.8" hard drive without having to remove it from a Ipod or Zune?

  • hmm my channel LOL

  • Hi There,

Just wondering what tool you used to take the initial screws out of the external casing. I cannot find a tork tool with the proper head. Most tork tool heads are six sided, but these 1.8 Toshiba drives require a five sided extremely small head. Also, do you know where I might find this tool? I have checked all the hardware stores.

    Thank you!

  • I myself used a small flat headed screw driver, " in the video I am removing Philip screws because they where replaced before the video for access, the original screws are actually really easy to remove with a small flat head or knife tip.

  • hello Zenodilodon,

is there any way I can recover data from my 1.8" toshiba hard drive. I had a creative zen, and it forze on me. And when i turn it on it says I have to reload firmware and etc. I need the data on there. What would be the best way to recover it.

    thanks

  • Reloading the firmware should not remove your information because firmware is often on a hidden partition on your drive and sometimes even on a flash chip on the main board. However the most secure way is plugging your zen in the USB and seeing if you can access the disk in my computer. if not check disk management for that device. or buy a device adapter for the 1.8 inch Toshiba hard drive for USB off of ebay. they are pretty cheep.

  • oh yes sir it is lol

  • @Zenodilodon I have a Drive like that its a Toshiba 80Gb

  • I guess it's kinda hard to hold a camera, and disassembling a tiny harddrive at the same time %-)

  • my zun is making that kin of noise is it failing

  • it is failing yes, sorry to give ya bad news x.x

  • i wounder if you can help.. I just got an ipod bought of a friend, and im having problems trying to put music on it. it was fine at first sync all my music went onto it but when i plugged it in the next day itunes crashed during sync. so i pulled it out and all my music was gone off the ipod. and for past 3 days ive tried everything and it will only let 8 Album MAX! onto the ipod and even then its very slow at putting music on to it. and i do hear a sound simular to that quite often.

  • I have also even tried using the ipod as a storage hard drive. were i dragged and droped a few films onto the ipod icon in my computer and it started copying but crashed the computer once i removed the ipod from the usb my computer started working again.. any ideas what?

  • Maybe a I/O device error, listen to your ipod very closely for repetitive clicking

  • how many rpm???????

  • 4200 RPM

  • aww poor little harddrive i hope my zune 30 doesnt die on me.

  • mine finally died :( the hard drive keeps clicking it boots up and freezes and then shuts itself off and restarts. :(

  • you have head damage, try freezing it in a sealed bag , it may ,may may recover the drive you much have it in a sealed bag until it rewarms otherwise condensation will wreck it.

  • really? thats crazy DX i deleted all the music off of it. im thinking about opening it up and examining the hard drive to see..but i already got a new one i got a 8gb the other day alot less space but all well. my 30gb only had a capacity of about 3.6gigs. anything over that the device doesnt respond and just shuts off:(
