CNN is such a disgusting "news" network. "Reporters" who cry? Who blatantly bias the news towards the liberal AGENDA. CBS had Edward R. Murrow. NBC had Chet Huntley and David Brinkley. CNN has Campbell Brown. Excuse me while I toss my lunch.

I cried when the news first broke about this little girl the night before on CNN, and later of her death during daytime. First we were happy that she was found and rescued, but the news broke was heartwrenching to learn how it ended..Brown is also human, and this story would have melt anyones heart..so be cool people!

I cried when Campbell couldn't accept her own real God given nose, and rejected it for the narrow slope of plastic. She's a heat lamp away from looking at home on the Neverland Ranch.
I worked in a trauma room and whenever a child dies the whole department calls time out. It's just what humans do. It's the same for firemen, police, doctors, nurses and even journalist.
Also for the record Campbell wasn't faking it. She almost broke down the day before this at another story about another child. I think she just lost it thist time. I'm sure all those journalists are affected by people suffering and dying especially children. If you don't feel empathy towards children (innocent victims who can't help or defend themselves) then you really are soulless

The on camera emotion by Campbell Brown shows us the magnitude of story after heartbreaking story of children dying and the difficulty to separate professional demeanor from raw human emotion for another human being in distress. Bravo to Campbell Brown and CNN for showing the world that is OK to cry for others!

That said something I never see talked about REALLY in the news is this: In the U.S. there are over 3 million homeless people (that is neary1/3 of Haitis population). Over1 million of those U.S. homeless are children. I have read financial forecast of upwards of 4million more foreclosures in 2010. We have a problem that will get out of control here too. We have to fix ourselves also. Shed a tear for our homeless children tonight too Ms. Brown.

But the point is I would rather, instead of the FAIL programs like Cash for Clunkers Program that wasted 3Billion could have bought and paid for 30,000 $100,000 homes for some homeless families, or built 3000, 1 MILLION dollar shelters. I could live with my tax dollars helping our own homeless families that way.
It's a sad story but still, it's obvious from a journalistic point of view the child's death was exploited for ratings. The news caster's orchestration of the event as the gloomy news unfolded - and then not helped by her cloying and unprofessional display (these people are trained to maintain composure and it's obvious when they break because it's a surprise. But this one had legs - you could see it coming.) Disturbing that reports of our deaths can so cleverly be converted to performance art

News programs have writers and directors - yes, just like THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW- and news anchors are quite experienced with stories like this. They decide before the story goes up how they will "play" it. This video is scripted and the anchor's response was scripted to some extent. Emotion used to be taboo in news, now it's a constant, obnoxious presence because of the popularity of reality TV. The producers couldn't pass up the opportunity to show a woman anchor in tears over dead child.
When JFK was assassinated, all the anchors fought to keep their composure, just as on 9/11. What you're saying is that Campbell Brown is an actor who turned on the tears purely for ratings. You're disconnected from humanity, I'm afraid.
We live in a complex world. Not everyone will share your emotions and reactions to a white, American upper-class female news anchor weeping over the death of a poor black child in Haiti. I don't think that Ms. Brown is looking for an Oscar. You have to have been moved at least alittle bit by the struggle for life this pretty girl had to endure. She could have recieved help at the expensive hotel but may have not been permitted. I wised that the reporter had followed her case more closely becuase he could have pulled strings to get her better help. I feel that he is probable agonizing that he could have done more to help this child.
I can relate to Campbell Brown completely. I have an adorable three year-old niece whom I love, and I can't bear the thought of something like this happening to her or any other little child. While it must be done, it is very difficult to keep one's emotions in check when confronting tragedies of this scope and magnitude. I can't fault Campbell for becoming emotional due to these images and narrative. I also did.
I was very moved by the piece on the adorable little girl. I am a man an I wept for this girl like everyone else. That said something I never see talked about REALLY in the news is this: In the U.S. there are over 3 million homeless people (that is neary1/3 of Haitis population). Over1 million of those U.S. homeless are children. I have read financial forecast of upwards of 4million more foreclosures in 2010. We have a problem that will get out of control here too. In a Bloomberg report in July 2009 there were 18.7MILLION EMPTY homes in the US. These numbers do include foreclousres, residences for sale and vacation properties. But the point is I would rather, instead of the FAIL programs like Cash for Clunkers Program that wasted 3Billion could have bought and paid for 30,000 $100,000 homes for some homeless families, or built 3000, 1 MILLION dollar shelters. The news caster's orchestration of the event as the gloomy news unfolded - and then not helped by her cloying and unprofessional display (these people are trained to maintain composure and it's obvious when they break because it's a surprise. News programs have writers and directors - yes, just like THE MARY TYLER MOORE SHOW- and news anchors are quite experienced with stories like this. They decide before the story goes up how they will "play" it. This video is scripted and the anchor's response was scripted to some extent. Emotion used to be taboo in news, now it's a constant, obnoxious presence because of the popularity of reality TV. The producers couldn't pass up the opportunity to show a woman anchor in tears over dead child.

She could have recieved help at the expensive hotel but may have not been permitted. I can relate to Campbell Brown completely. I have an adorable three year-old niece whom I love, and I can't bear the thought of something like this happening to her or any other little child. While it must be done, it is very difficult to keep one's emotions in check when confronting tragedies of this scope and magnitude.
