  • Christchurch is not in australia.. What do clouds in Sydney have to do with anything in new Zealand? Also we often have clouds like this in nz with no earthquakes, they are perfectly normal.

  • We have had 10,000 earthquakes here since the September 2010 quake...

How are your EMW correlations going?

There is no rocket science in this, Australia+India is to blame, your part of the crust is fighting it out with the pacific plate and we are in the middle.

  • @arnuxii Now, it's no longer 'we think' but 'we know' for a fact that there are correlations. Many of the related sites are in Japanese unfortunately, but this images link might help. Some of them are the images of the clouds typically seen before major earthquakes. The URL is h t t p colon f-slash f-slash bit.ly f-slash xr UZ dL (Remove all spaces and replace f-slash with the pertinent symbol). Cheers.

  • @arnuxii Another site I can refer you to is this. h t t p colon, f-slash, f-slash netazo dot net f-slash living f-slash 392 f-slash Please change colon, dot, and forward-slashes with pertinent symbols, which I cannot use to write comments in YT. The site includes some pics from lab experiments to generate artificial clouds using EMW as well as real clouds (in the sky). Cheers.

  • RUN FOR THE HILLS!

  • Any correlation?

    NONE what so ever !!!

  • its normal...thats cloud are some days look strange..some looks like people...hehehehe i record it...and some looks like words..If anyone agreed thumbs up please

  • The URL is bit dot ly forwardslash 3GRKPz

  • @GhettoLandTV It is a pity so many people do not know about the correlation between seismic activities and the electromagnetic wave. This is a Japanese TV program that recorded a lab experiment as a university to prove the correlation. Anyone who is not knowledgeable about their correlation should watch this - at least watch from 3m30s to have a better understanding. Or AT LEAST see the experts research appearing at 2m30s about Loma Prieta Earthquake in the U.S.

  • i saw similar clouds a few months ago0.. not sure if clouds even relate to earth quakes, but these clouds do exist I have seen them and I live in the Bay of Islands of NZ, the top of the north island (we dont get earth quakes)

  • 0:05 i seen those clouds like a week or 2 b4 the earth quesk

  • Again, I feel dizzy for the couple of days, and my PC is playing up, which rarely happens. A week ago, catastrophic earth quakes broke out near Japan, and am concerned about the Pacific Ring of Fire. I really hope no more quakes cause disasters in NZ or near pacific islands. It's been too cloudy for cloud watching this week. Full moon this weekend, and the moon gets very close to the earth this week. I pray for the world.

  • new method for detecting Earthquakes??? im sold.

  • i also lived in pasadena during the whittier narrows earthquake, i was at my desk on the 2nd floor of an office building in pasadena, my desk actually bounced across the room, needless to say, o was out of there before an after shock, but it was pretty scary, you are correct, it was warm, but i don't remember any clouds,

  • isn't it strange that the earthquake was in CHRIST CHURCH I'm just saying

  • Google HAARP might be interesting.

  • This isn't unusual for Christchurch to have clouds like that (even though i am aware you have photographed these clouds in Sydney) I live in CHCH and whenever we have NW winds it's very dry and hot here and the clouds are high in the sky and look like that :)

  • If you actually google it, you will find your answer within seconds.

Its called an altocumulus cloud, its caused when very moist (humid) turbulent atmospheric conditions are met with cool moist air rising through this layer, and is generally followed by a few days of dry calm weather.

"Mare's tails and mackerel scales / Make tall ships carry low sails." is a nautical rhyme.

It can form in patches (scales) or in long lines(tails) just like you saw, so no nothing to do with the quake.

  • @geetarwanabe: Ahhh, the voice of reason. So refreshing. :)

  • I cant speak to it but I lived in LA when they had the very strong Whitter Narrows quake and lived seven miles from the epicenter. It was very warm and still and the clouds like you showed in the first example were everywhere the day before the earthquake. I do remember that. Sort of a revised buttermilk type of cloud

  • @geoffeyboy57106 Thank you for your comment. On 21 Feb 2011, I saw clouds like the ones in the first shot of this video footage, covering one fifth of the sky. It was a very warm, humid day, and cumulonimbus clouds were expected, but not one. No pics or video this time, thinking this might not be convincing enough to let people know that there are some weird correlations between the patterns of clouds and earth quakes. The sunset glow was so bright, not orange, but as red as a strawberry.

  • @rrreeeiii000111 Thank you for your comment. If you are in Christchurch I would very much like to talk to you if possible. I am so sorry you guys have gone through so much turmoil in such a short period of time. Two major quakes in five months. Unbelievable. If you would like to talk some more I am on Skype and Yahoo and would love to talk to you about this. I think you might have something and I have been through a number of earthquakes living in So. California

  • @rrreeeiii000111 Amazing- I thought I was the only one who noticed this. This has only happened to me twice in my life where I've looked at the clouds & the sunset- there was something so strange- and then I go home and tell my mom It looked to me like there would be an earthquake very soon and the next day, we had the Northridge quake in California! I'm no saying I have some special sense or whatever but I think I was perhaps more in touch with earth than other times.

  • Man that was the most scareist thikng in my whole intire life i thoughti was going to die! my grandmothers place was right in kaipoi! shelives by herself adn she cried we rang as soon as the lines were up again your drive is like wasves and sand it all on it she has a sandvolcanoe under her driveway!

  • I have plenty afternoon and sunset pics, from 3/9/2010, and they did'nt seem weird to me, although i 'v' experienced many major earthquakes in my life, along with this one...

Some of the clouds you show on the vid, are called cirrocumulus/altocumulus clouds, or Mackerel sky, a very frequent natural phenomenon...

  • Sydney is a long way from Christchurch I doubt there is a link. Earthquake clouds are often seen though. A few people I know in Christchurch saw weird clouds the evening before and a few days before the earthquake.
