Rem is amazing... she's one of those characters who has a lot more than meets the eye. That scene in the tv series when she strokes Misa's hair from her face is just so touching!
I'd say in a sense Misa was never brought to justice really. Okay, she may have committed suicide after the manga/anime, but at the end of the anime she was the only one who escaped really. With no memory of the Death Note and nothing connecting her to being the second Kira, the police had nothing on her. And in a sense Light kept his promise to Rem.
But Rem is one of my favourite characters. She's so...enigmatic in a sense. Got the best theme too! ^_^
I feel so sorry for Rem. No one took notice of her. She really had a tragic life. If she had a soul, it must have scarred&&bruised, as this song so clearly suggests. Rem is such a motherly figure, and like any daughter/son, Misa didn't acknowledge her. Such a poor soul... eh, shinigami. :)

Rem believed by killing L and Watari, Light would love Misa even more. Treat her nicely. She loved Misa, and she basically sacraficed herself for Misa. Light used Rems death just so he could use her. Rem died in vain. I did not like the fact that she killed L under Lights orders. Rem was one of my fav characters. It was L first, Near second, then Ryuk or Rem.
Misa has forgotten about her past with the death note and can't remember all what Rem did for her.

I think it is so sad.
Rem believed by killing L and Watari, Light would love Misa even more. Treat her nicely. She loved Misa, and she basically sacraficed herself for Misa. Light used Rems death just so he could use her. Rem died in vain. I did not like the fact that she killed L under Lights orders. Rem was one of my fav characters. It was L first, Near second, then Ryuk or Rem.
Misa has forgotten about her past with the death note and can't remember all what Rem did for her.

There is so much death in this anime/manga. If it weren't so amazing, I'd spare myself the torment. For characters like Rem and L to die is just tragic. Wonderful video. Lovely song.

Rem, to me, almost seemed like a mother to Misa. She formed bonds with Misa, making sacrifices for her so she could live her own life dedicated for Light, and ultimately paid the ultimate price for her protection, just like a mother would take a bullet for their child.
What a tragic, tragic character.

@ScreamingFanGirl666 Yes I do know basic "current" definitions ;] However new definitions are being created all the time. For example, 10 years ago "noob" meant nothing, but now its been given a definition ;]. But while it wasnt a word, people kept using it as one. In the same way, a new definition can be added to a word. So while "gay" has happy and homosexual as its basic 2 definitions, a new definition can be created if enough people understand/use it. You feeling the vibe brah?

Or substitute "lame" with another word with a similar connotation and you get the same effect. While its not in the dictionary, the use of the word gay as "lame" is widely recognized. But very cute, trying to insult me. If you want to compete on an intellectual level I suggest you give up ;]
