@TheHumorBoyz Yes you can. With the newer unibody MacBook pros they combined the two ports two make it one, audio out and microphone in. So the answer to your question is yes...you will have no problems! The only problem you may encounter is your headset not working with Mac...so in that case just bug a new one. Hope this helps! @jjrules4eva Yes, if you want to use Photoshop or Apeture for example, you would do best with the 8GBs of RAM but the standard 4GBs will cope easily.

@pandurang81 The 13" has the benifit of super portability where as the 15" has the option for a high resolution screen, a 7200 RPM hard drive and most importantly, a dedicated graphics card, if you're using Final Cut for example, you're better of getting the base line 15" because of the graphics card, check out my article on quantumrohan . c o m and go to major articles to hear more about the 13".

I have a Macbook Pro 13" as well but the lower end [4 gb, 2.4 ghz processor, 250 gb HD] but it works wonders, I used it in Architecture and Design and it works fine. I used Archicad for Mac, the Abobe CS5 Master Suite, Autocad 2011 [which I'll upgrade to the mac version once it's out] and 3ds max design [running on bootcamp and parallels]...all of those [aside from ms office] are demanding on graphics but this machine is awesome and blistering fast in handling them.

That battery thing pisses me off. First, I don't want anyone else but me touching my computer to replace the batteries, espeically if I have sensitive information in the laptop. Secondly, I might want to use the MBP as a desktop replacement, plugged in full time like a desktop. To do that, I'd have to remove tthe battery fo prevent OVERCHARGING it. FUCK. Every laptop has some FORCED, artificially imposed flaw to prevent it from becoming perfect.

If I want to plug it in full time like a desktop, the battery would become too hot or overcharged, damaging it. Secondly, having someone else change my batteries is incovenient, especially if they're not careful as I am and might scratch my laptop. And I'm careful. I have an 11 year old laptop that is BRAND NEW. That's how well I keep my product. When someone else changes the battery, that care is doubtful. I don't feel the extra 1 to 2 hours is worth the tradeoff.

I bought this exact model March 2, 2010 and i love it. I have not loved a computer this much. I actually like it better then the icore processors that are out today because of the fact that apple didn't seem to build a proper cooling system into their new macbook pros. I have been reading some real horror stories about how the new macbook pros have been burning out due to this faulty cooling system. I agree with you said when you stated "the 4gbs is the sweet spot"

Our highschool has computer labs. I'm worrying about the screen being too small? Which do you think is the better choice?

@forg11111 It demends more on the screen resolution rather than simply it's physical size. The 13" MacBook Pro (and white plastic MacBook) are 1280 x 800 which is typical for that physical screen size. 15" displays tend to be 1440 x 900 (or you have the option for a 1680 x 1050 display on the 15" MacBook Pro's). Bigger resolution is usually better, but it depends on what you're using it for. The best thing would be to go check them out at an Apple Store to get a feel for them, thats the best way

@wiipspdude By that I assume you mean their desktops. What's wrong with them? They're not updated as often as PC manufacturers update their lines, but they also run their own OS so they're not really falling behind considering they control the pace of both. Also they tend to run better than Windows machines because the hardware is made for the software and vise versa, MUCH better integration of the both which gives you a smoother user experience. PS, the Mac Pro's still trash most workstations.

Got the same macbook pro 2.53GHz 13inch about a month ago. Compared to my old Toshiba A200, it's amazing in every way, no flashing HDD,SD,Battery,PowerI/O lights, Slick dvd drive, much more powerful, smaller yet more fuller battery, Considering the A200's battery stuck out and was huge but only lasted 2 hours in a power savings mode lol

@ssthao It takes 30 seconds to a minute to boot. If yours is booting slowly, then I'd recommend getting a 7200rpm 2.5 hard drive, or a solid state drive if you want to boot up faster. Solid state drives are very expensive though they are extremely faster than hard drives. (super fast booting)
