Apparently no one can try to balance an inequality without being a feminist. I don't think male nursing programs are criticized. Are you scared of women being engineers? This isn't a big deal and is good to not force gender stereotypes. If you wanted to decorate homes and but you were tagged as "gay" for doing so you probably wouldn't pursue that option. It may seem like overkill but there are cultural barriers that prevent us from pursuing paths based solely on gender men and women alike.

The problem is that these sorts of programs are are built on a foundation of promoting gender inequality. Why exactly do young women NEED specialized treatment and programs developed purely for their interest? Mentoring and career development should be gender neutral - yet if I have an interest in engineering I can't join the Purdue WIEP and gain access to those resources because I have incompatible genitalia. Nothing equal about that.

I find this absolutely amazing! As a male, there is no surprise at all that women are taking the lead in fields that are otherwise predominately male based. Currently, within my undergrad classes, the majority is women! In my Political Science Class, there is only 4 guys and 25 girls -we are the minority. I for one welcome women into these fields as it serves as an inspiring factor in gaining a dynamic perspective to common problems. Women, keep up the fine fight!
