  • thank you so much for this is there a second part?

  • Thank you for posting this. Totally made my week.

  • The guitarist looks like Ted Dunbar to me...he used his thumb instead of a pick, like Wes...he used to teach @ Jazzmobile in NYC...his system was very, very comprehensive...but he was open to other styles of music as well, which was the great thing about him...

Noticed the marimba player as well...nice...

    Tasty solo by Larry Young...

  • Larry Young...as influential a musical genius with the Hammond B3 as the great Milt Buckner was!

Thank goodness they can live forever through their recordings...

  • @GregRX7

    totally agree with you

  • thats right.... tony´s lifetime was a lifetime ahead of its time....

  • better than the album version on ego, to be honest, i´ve never liked that album much,

  • Wow!!!!

    Nice video!

I've bought his cd for 10$ the other time; the cd was "Tony Williams lifetime the collection". His music is awesome!

  • guys, could you help me track down a video of Tony W i once saw on youtube? i can't find it anywhere. it's a black and white video, most likely during the 70's, and it was a clinic. it's a multipart video, and specifically, he drums, and does a Q n A, specifically talking about his stick grip technique. thanks for any help you can give me.

  • "There Comes A Time" is the standout on that album. One of the greatest tunes I've ever heard. It became an instant favorite when I first heard it.

  • Amn, Larry was so different here w this band. He was one of a kind. And Tony is a innovator. This is like Oriental vibe music w a twist.

  • great holistic bands are--gong, mother gong, magma aphrodities child, jade warrior, eat static, system 7, lisa gerrard, dead can dance, jade warrior, larry coryell, shakti, oregon, melting euphoria, ozric tentacles, steve hillage, steve tibbetts, steffi sharpstrings.

  • TY gwafan717

chilling wid my blue string ty weed and half a glass of Wray & Nephews mixed wid a Bigga Grape flavor juice.

    i've gone clear

    big post bro

  • Is this number from Lifetime's recording Ego?

  • This is called "Circa 45" off of Ego

  • Wow!

  • yeah it's Juini Booth on bass. He now plays with The Sun Ra Arkestra and is part of the NY based trio I led 3 lives.

  • THINK YOU ARE CORRECT ON PERSONNEL, ALTHOUGH HAVE NEVER HEARD OF THE BASS PLAYER. TED DUNBAR PLAYED W/ ORNETTE COLEMAN'S PRIME TIME AND WARREN SMITH IN PAT MARTINO'S ORGAN TRIO A LA THE ORIGINAL LIFETIME AND NUMEROUS ORGAN/GUITAR TRIOS BEFORE THEM. INCREDIBLE TOUCH, POWER , WHILE PLAYING SO SOFTLY AND SLOWLY!!!!! Tony and Larry . Resquiate in Pace.

  • Man, I wish there was some video of the original lineup from 1969 and the quartet in 1970! Lifetime played the Newport Jazz festival in 1970, has anyone ever heard of any footage from that show. I saw some of L. Armstong in '70 in newport so I know at least part of the festival was recorded. Anyone?

    Great vid by the way.

  • 3:50 - the groove from here until they go back to the mellow organ figure is amazing!!!

  • that's what i'm talkin' about !!

  • simply amazing. and i want to know the name of this boot! i'l trade for it

  • I was playing a Tony Williams Lifetime CD on my desk at work a few months ago & people were calling it 'noise'. That's the problem- people still haven't caught up to what the Lifetime was all about- their loss!!

  • @Carlito1988 this is flowing sructured artistic Improv. What's goin On Now is more or less Noise, for sure and very few masters of voice or Instruments. Its, a fast food music world, and G.C.Center.crap.

  • @Carlito1988 you can't expect regular folks to be able to wrap their heads around stuff like this. it's like asking a regular person to really appreciate a cubist period Picasso, it just ain't never happening.

  • Gloriously bonkers!

  • Maravilloso documento,Tony Williams Lifetime

del disco EGO,con Ted Dumbar guit, Larry Young

Don Alias perc, todos desaparecidos ya, dejandonos este invaluable testamento musical

    de los 70'.

  • hummin at you

  • Tony Williams and Larry Young - AWESOME!!!

  • Where can I get this entire video?
