The whole WoW thing was just a joke but I'm sure you knew that. The game took so long because 3DRealms had way too much money to be able to quit, if they had a limited budget like they did for Duke Nukem 3D they wouldn't have been able to keep adding new elements to the game.
Now that it came out,it made me think that it would be better if it never did.Because as long as it was in 'development' we believed that it was going to be THE BEST GAME OF ALL TIME as George promised us..But now that it came out and it's not even on par with other games...
It would be better to stay a sweet memory than a huge real disappointment.
@Arxidianomeas I disagree. I played it and enjoyed it a lot. Of course, I did not like the 2-weapon system and the lack of SDK, but for the rest, it's just what I expected from a Duke game. Duke's irreverence, a lot of aliens to kill and a lot of interactivity (what other FPS lets you play pool, as well as WIN a game of pool by hitting the balls with a basketball?)
I'd give it a 6/10 for graphics, 7/10 for story and 8/10 for interactivity.

I'd give it generic in graphics, horrible for multiplay, mediocre for story and nice for interactivity, yawn within humor. No current game can quite reach Awesome, the highest score. But still I rate it pretty poor. I also bet we would've seen DNF on the Cryengine if they had just a bit more time. xD

@Cili1000XL Roflol, Gearbox wont do anything with DNF. You see Gearbox itself have said that 3D Realms had the game alrdy in finishing phase. The game was completed. They just fix soem bugs and some little problems in there and release it. So basically Gearbox wont do anything special so it will be 99% 3D realms game and lets face it, only 3D Realms can make Duke Nukem. :P (Not saying that Gearbox is bad, i love their games, but Duke is 3D).

Total PC Gaming called it "the best singleplayer mod for Prey" and it's the closest thing to DNF you can get to play right now (as you will see, the locations have been inspired by early screenshots of DNF).

In 2009 george broussard told take-two he'd need $6.5 to have the game finished in the year (bearing in mind paying the internal team, QA and advertising then making/shipping it), take-two offered $5 m and then knowing it'd mean the release of 3D realms internal team; take-two lowered it to $2.5 i believe, george broussard said no to the offer and said they'd finish it themselves. And take-two would gain no revenue from it.

They made Borderlands I didn't play it but people say its awsome and it even looks awsome
They also made 2 Half-life expansions and Half-life has very similar gameplay with Duke Nukem 3D
So I know they can make an epic game....If they can made a demo even better.....even a 10 minutes demo with Duke will make me but the game
