I've always admired how all the Nine Inch Nails albums are like a chronicling of Trent Reznor's life. He's an artist, and I don't expect him to re-invent Pretty Hate Machine or the Downward Spiral with each album release. That would be like asking him to have the mindset of a twenty-three-year-old for the rest of his life.
Somborac420 what the hell is wrong with you, did you just start listening to them or something? i mean the best they ever were was back when "Broken" come out and "Downward Spiral" thats it, now they are just panzzzzzzzzz
Ah, traditional, are we? Still a great album, I don't think Trent has lost it. Certainly not his best work, but still very nice. And by the way, did YOU start listening to him? Because it's not a "they".
when did i start listening to him you mean? well ever since he self made album, "Pretty Hate Machine". i really liked the Quake sondtracks he did for the game too. wish he would of kept on doing music and sound for it. i know its really just a one band man, and he changes the people who are in with him alot. lol did you know that Marylin Mansion use to play Guitar for him. i think it was only for the "Broken" album tho idk, i dont keep up with the people he change's out.
First off, it wasn't Marilyn Manson that played guitar for him, it was a guy from Manson's band who named himself Twiggy Ramirez, if I remember correctly. Actually, it would be the other way around, Trent played for Manson on a tour and they've composed songs together and Trent has produced for Manson... they have an on-again, off-again friendship.
Aside from that, IMHO, I think Reznor didn't really come into his own until Spiral... and he started maturing from there, as a musician.
ok watch the video for "Gave Up" at :49 in thats M.M. not "twiggy". Maturing? funny you should say that cause right after "DownWard Spiral" he had a FOUR year writer's block until "Fragile" which i might add would the start of his down fall.
i mean he's still a good artist and i like some songs on "Fragile" and "WITH TEETH", but he lost his mo-jo. he didn't seem that dark anymore, just emo. i stil think NIN is a good band, i just miss the old dark days.
@5pac3c0w60y big part of the lack of "dark" i believe is that fact that he went clean. Hard to be so dark when you don't have as many evils in your life.
Amazing song! Easily one of Trent's best ever. I need your discipline. I need your help. I need your discipline. You know once I start I can not help myself! NIN 4 LIFE!

haha its kinda cute that he is singing too early..

@schari69 it's not 'too early' when he means to do it. it's a hard thought vibe enhancer.
