mine looks just like this except there is no knob for height adjustment. and, all rear wheel hardware on mine is missing. it's an sst500. do you know if that was supposed to have height adjustment or just set in place rear wheels? and would there be wires coming from the motor if it was intended to have a headlight? because mine didn't come with a socket either.
@Vacmasterthegreat I would imagine if it was supposed to have height adjustments there would be a big hole to the right rear of the vacuum. I've never seen one without the adjustments. The headlight on these are 120v. The 12v system uses the 12v off the motor windings, which has the wires coming from the motor. My wires come off the cord and switch because of the 120v system.
@fgbags I always refered to them as microwave bulbs. thats were I 1st saw them.. never knew they took straight 120. I'm hopefully getting a new fan for mine tomarrow so I'll have to hook up a headlight then
@meanyist all later model singers have ryobi moters.i geuss they buy the motors and install them in there cleaners.i geuss it's just cheaper that way.
@meanyist It's not made by Ryobi, just has a Ryobi motor. Still very much a Singer vacuum. There's gotta be something wrong with yours not cleaning well because mine sucks itslef down to my carpet. Check your belt that it's not stretched and check your twin fan chambers to make sure no clog. Both things were wrong with mine.

I have one like that it's made by ryobi. It really doesn't clean that well. mine has a two speed motor.
