I got great scores in Music...and got terrible scores in Math... wtf is he talkin' about? Dude... If you freakin' don't teach the kids wth the test is about... the failure for the test goes UP not DOWN... dumbass... and we already HAVE tests like that... they're called PRE-TEST! @Sen369 Obama isn't saying teach math via music, he's saying he want everything taught, not just math and science. Art and history are valued.

And he mentions that fact that music increases math scores. Which it does. The level of thinking and concentration, the logical way of putting together a piece (as well as the creative) opens a mind to how math works. Again, he's not saying music should replace math or any craziness.

Oh, and he's also saying don't lecture to the test, meaning don't tell the kids what exactly is going to be on the test. It causes the kids to just memorize and not digest what the teacher is teaching.

Taking a test on something you've simply memorized is a lot different (and inferior) compared to learn the background of the subject, how to deal with problems, and critical thinking. Makes senses, no??
