  • communism never tried that!!!

  • Makes me cry, soooooooooooo sad

  • Michael Moore should take a course of economics for once. Idiot.

  • @MrTreantHugger why?

  • "Dead Pesants"...seriously??....well i guess that says it all doesn't it

  • to everyone who hasnt woke up, and contiune to belive this is how it is, you all are sheeple, and there is a time and place for you, just thought id express my concern for the lack of people giving not even a rats ass about the future!

  • That walmart looks just like the one in my town.

  • God, I can't believe how stupid these people are. Either that or they're in on whatever Ponzi scheme Moore is trying to pull.

  • FUCK WALMART

  • oh well, Walmart can do that...too bad! Greed is Good and the 1% rule

  • WHILE SOLDERS ARE AWAY ! WALMART FREE TRADE SENDS THEIR JOBS AWAY !!!

  • support the 99 % protest!!

  • @kevinlara96 No

  • Holy shit . . . Am I understanding this correctly? So anytime one of Wal-Mart's employees die . . . Wal-Mart gets an 80,000 pay-out . . . and it's called a WHAT? A dead peasant policy? But they did't send one dime of that to the dude's wife's funeral? WTF

  • @JaegerandRoar they dont take insurance polices out on everyone, and how much money they get depends on the age and gender of the person... depressing

  • Thats fucked

  • those bastards at 911 should have hit wall street not the twin towers!

  • @ForME4mi Agreed!

  • Capitalism, Socialism, etc all of those forms of goverment are great, but not all of them are suitable for all economies.

The problem lies in how people manipulate it.

Humans beings are corrupt from the inside, It almost seems like it's coded into our DNA to be corrupt and destroy anything that's inferior to us.

Just like religion, It helps many people live ''better'' lives but those there are those who use it for their personal benefit.

It's so sad to see how low human beings have become.

  • this story makes me sick to my stomach. corporations=evil

  • @searchforthetruth2 boom. I am all for health insurance AND our higher education being paid for in taxes. We LOVE complicated nonsense. I have dealt w/ FAFSA, it is more work than attending school, sucks energy. People can sleep at night knowing that if they lost their job they would be covered with 90%+ of their wages, health care is always available, and they have top notch (the best) subway and transit as well as bike infrastructure pretty much in the world. bring it on. Sign me up!

  • Is the Human Life a "Chess" game for a Company???

Peasant = the immolation object of the chess game

    :-(

I think these companies are real maffias, they can kill people for money...

  • I applied for Walmart a few weeks ago. Then I saw Capitalism a love story, Needless to say, I said forget it when they called me.

I'm working to support my mother and younger brother, and no way in fucking hell

am I going to let anyone to get a life insurance plan on me without it going to my family.

  • corporations are pure evil.

  • this is on my "watch later"...

i didnt even put it there -__-

  • You have to sign a "Employee Contract" before being hired, also during the application process you basically sign away your rights as an employee. Most employers that are anti-union require you to do this.

  • There are a few things that dont make sense in this clip, wal mart can not take a policy on her life, without her signature, if you are dumb enough to sign anything without reading it, then its her fault

  • @lover3344 you try getting a job without sigining that contract

  • this might be besides the point, but how in the world does a family survive off 2 parents working at wal mart

  • Wal-Mart is called Asda in the UK

  • wooooooooooooooowwwwwwwww dead peasants? wow

  • revolution right now!!!

  • ..disgusting

  • Walmart=Satan :p

  • AMERICA - FUCK NO

  • This is very sad, and I feel bad for this family. But who paid for the insurance? Walmart paid for it. They are insuring their business. They have insurance for many aspects of their business. If a person wants life insurance, then go buy a life insurance policy.

  • I don't get why it's bad for companies to take out life insurance on employees. The fact it's called "Dead Peasant" insurance is ridiculous though, I had to chuckle awkwardly at how absurd the name is. Change the name for heavens sake.

  • I DONT GET IT? WHY DO PEOPLE HATE ON MICHEAL MOORE? HE HAS DONE SO MUCH TO SHOW ANOTHER SIDE, ANOTHER THOUGHT, AND PULL BEHIND THE CURTAIN? HOW IS HE EVIL? WHAT ABOUT WALMART?? WHAT ABOUT CALLING EMPLOYEES DEAD PEASENT? ARE WE KIDDING HERE? MICHEAL MOORE IS THE TRUTH!

  • @Black0ps4Lif3 this is true, michael has done really great work in exposing the criminals who run the world. however, he is a bit of a hypocrit, he invested in haliburton before the war in iraq. if you want to see real hardcore documentaries check out Alex jones on youtube... you can watch all his documentaries on youtube full length, not cut into parts. like "Obama Deception" , "Operation Endgame" and others

  • @Black0ps4Lif3 I totally agree with you. I love his documentaries and they have really opened my eyes to another point of view. He does have ALOT of fans out there !! Shame on Walmart!

  • Comment removed

  • @Black0ps4Lif3 tough shit....greed is good

  • @Black0ps4Lif3 He's demonized because people don't like what he says. But I really believe that he's the real deal. Michael Moore came from a poor working-class family in one of the poorest cities in the country. That doesn't stop his detractors from constantly pointing out that he's now a millionaire, as if that somehow discredits his political statements.

  • What happens when human greed is let loose...

  • 20 people must be members of the walton family

  • I agree with the overall premise of this film but Michael Moore is an exploitative evil fuck and I feel sympathy for the people, like this family, that he uses for his personal gain.

  • The point is that these huge companies can always depend on customers, due to their domination before the financial crisis. the CEOs of Wal-mart and Tesco keep absorbing money- real money, and give their employees the minimum wage and keep them sated with fake credit which they control the value of. these corporations have taken capitalism one step further; they've made their own currency- which they control the value of. this is ridiculous because they do not manufacture their own merchandise.

  • Tesco is socially destructive in Europe, the same way as Wal-mart is socially destructive in the United States of America. These companies got huge insurence and tax exemptence from the so-called "Bad Banks" during the property boom, and because they were huge conglomerates anyway they paid their original loans in a heartbeat. after the financial crises they did not have to worry about any form of debt or borrowing history- they are banks in and of themselves now, so they don't have to care.

  • We even learned about walmart being evil in Cultural Geography

  • im serious, 18 dislikes are from walmart CEO's and etc

  • So why is the husband of the deceased still working for the company who treated his wife like shit? I don't get it. He must be either incredibly stupid or he never loved his wife in the first place. Don’t tell me he stayed because he loved interacting with the people who worked there. There are many other companies he could have worked for with the same work atmosphere. This documentary makes people look as if they had no choice in the matter which is incredibly misleading.

  • @MYAMERICANPSYCHO Have you ever considered that it's not that easy to get a job? Anyway, the way I understood it he doesn't work for them anymore. They said "he used to" right at the beginning.

  • Is it just me or does that boy have no legs?

  • How is her death Wal-Marts fault? Just curious. Did Michael Moore give the family money for exploiting them?

I make 19 bucks an hour and support a family of four ALONE and I have life insurance. Its this husband and wifes fault they didnt insure themselves.

Also I did not see him show a "profit statement" or did I miss it? 2:30

  • @YiuTeub Are you an idiot? Did you even watch the clip? He never said her death was their fault, the point is that Wal Mart took out a policy on her life, with the company being the beneficiary, not the family, Wal Mart!!! You think that is ok, for them to profit off of her death? You are the very kind of mindless citizen that is allowing this country to crumble to pieces, just go stick your head in the sand ok!!!!

  • @theoneje Why should walmart offer them any money? Since they never paid into it. Perhaps walmart has an agreement with insurers that everyone gets insured and therefore get a better rate. Its up to the employee to share the costs if their family expects to see any of the money upon death.

Also maybe they insure lives in order to offset healthcare costs on the balance statement. I dont know maybe you do.

They did not say its walmarts fault you are right.

  • @theoneje does that boy have no legs?

  • @allensfilms93 Yes he has legs, they're just bent on the couch, that's why you can't see them.

  • @YiuTeub cuz they there cut there insurance

  • Oh man the only way this could be worse would be if the woman save money to give to her family and then walmart took a large percentage of that money when she died..almost like a tax..but assocaited with death.... man I bet Mr. Moore would be all over that.. Thank god nothing happens like that in the USA..nothing at all..That would piss Mr Moore off so bad people robbing the dead..

Laying it on real thick here..

  • why not go to big corperations? it will doom some of the biggest employers in the nation and piss off the working man who would otherwise have to pay twice as much at a different place. ignorance is bliss i guess. You don't realize what a liar that MM is and how much of a hypocrite he is as well. If you do real non biased research you'll find that 99% of what he says is FACTUALLY wrong. Dates, quotes, figures, stats etc. He is nothing more than a liberal trying to spread his views

  • People only focus on what bad it brings but never focus on the good. I have seen it turn dead ass towns into good ones and provide tons of employment! Anybody experienced in darwinism knows that the company with the superior prodcut and price will come out the victor. If small business have so then they will not go under. Who cares anyhow if they do? a few business owners are disapointed but 100 people now have jobs and the community has access to cheap and superior goods.

  • @rocker4u123 Who cares if good working class Americans lose their jobs to a corporation? Really?? If it was your father or grandfather who lost everything he worked his whole life for, you would surely sing a different tune. Who cares that these corporations are crippling small businesses, but also that they are exploiting, overworking, beating and injuring women and children in impoverished countries for us to have our "cheap and superior goods", but who cares right?

  • @theoneje Lol if they sell a better product at cheaper rates then they won't go out of business. Its called darwinism you moron. The "big" business's started out as mom and pop shops and florished should they be blamed? If we only had small business's do you realize how expensive everything would be. If you get your info from MM i feel sorry b/c he is nothing but a liar. Do some serious research on EVERYTHING he says. Just b/c some fat greedy liberal says something doesn't make it true.

  • @rocker4u123 walmart doesn't sell quality products. i stopped going there a while back cause everything i've bought from there was crap. from clothes, electronics to food. all of their stuff is not good

  • @mojohookbarb they sell the same electronics you get in any other store. I've never had a problem with walmart and i go to numerous stores. From mom and pop and up. The problem is obviously you; why do you have to have the best?

  • These cocksucker corporation will pay for there sins !!!! We need a fucken change in this country !! I am all for Capitalism but what we have in this nation is rape!!!!!

So lets not blame the Mexicans on this one the Goverment needs to anwer to us we are not stupid!

  • when companies take out life insurance policies on their employees it allows them to utilize certain tax breaks. Companies don't do it because they hate their employees, they do it to save money. If you don't like it, write your legislator.

  • "Dead peasants" ? jesus, its like feudal times.

  • Made in CHINA ---- Scum bags from USA fascist(business politics married) goverment fucked up people in USA.

  • @NuggetsOfTruth Nope. It's from Michael Moore's 2009 documentary, Capitalism A Love Story.

  • HOLY SHIT IT'S ELLIS FROM L4D2.

  • Does anyone expect Wal-mart to care about you? Is it really so horrible that they profit from someone's death? It's not like they caused her death or took anything from the family. The coffin making company profited as well. Sure it's morbid but I don't think it's something to get worked up about.

  • Yes, I stopped going to Wal Mart myself like maybe 8 years ago and that is because there are as.wipes in so many ways.

  • Wal-mart is disgusting. People, stop shopping there!

  • should have gotten aflac

  • USA!

  • thats horse shit, all of it

  • @lion3p0 So true.

  • And if you are so simple minded to believe that harsh criticizm of this grotesquely greedy, hypocritical company equals condemning capitalism and free markets, again,.....SHOOT YOURSELF!!

  • If you are someone who can step foot inside Wal-Mart after watching this, or any of the other hundreds of horrific, egregious things they get away with, then do the rest of us a favor and SHOOT YOURSELF!

  • @muhser1 I stopped going to walmart ages ago. I also gave up eating at mcdonalds.

  • @ETericET i'm with you i also don't shop at walmart or eat at Macdonald. They are both bad horrible companies to give your business to.

  • @ETericET that's good. try to buy your milk and eggs and cheese from local farmers...see if there's a local bakery in your area so you can buy your delicious bread, too. You'll be delighted and surprised to see how much you buy at Wal-Mart can actually be purchased in your hometown local stores.

    Good luck

  • @ETericET I did the same thing like you.

    Bravo/a.

  • @ETericET good on you dude!

  • @ETericET I never buy from Wal-Mart. Way to go!

  • @ETericET Amen. I do my grocery shopping in local "Ma' and Pa' " run businesses!

  • The problem here is that when she started working, they should have known about this. Plus Wal Mart Pays for all of their employees every month which means that 80,000 doesn't look as good.Capitalism Is the way to go, when you say people are greedy it also means there are a lot of them which means they are competing for the same money, they will compete for each others money and thats how it works. The CEO buys a car and therefore pays a worker, buys a house which pays another worker, its a cycle

  • I'm more of a democratic socialist. I mean Communism goes against human nature because people will always be greedy and it's impossible for everyone to be equal. BUT having too much greed (like Capitalism) is not good either. So we gotta balance things out and be a little more in the middle like democratic socialism

  • @yankee82090 what we need to do is to stop listening to this fat pig. he lies in all of his movies and what happened in this video clip has nothing to do with capitalism. how do you think this country made it as far as it did, the answer, CAPITALISM. how do you think this fat pig got all of his money? if he was so wonderful, he would give up all of his money then to help everyone els. if you asked him to do this, he would just go hide in a corner and have his people push you away.

  • @bridor1701 So your definition of wonderful is to give up everything you have and to help everyone else? Hmmm, what does that sound like?

  • @et720 you took that the wrong way for sure. i am for capitalism, not welfare.

  • @bridor1701 I'm for capitalism as well, but I think what Michael Moore is trying to say, is that he is against corporatism, which I am also against.

  • @bridor1701 You're so stuck in your hate you have no idea what is actually being said in this clip and in his movie.. Your unreasonable hatred blinds you to a lot... including the fact that Michael Moore doesn't make these films all by himself... he has people who assist him with research, fact checkers and a lot of people involved in the project. They are trying to show the truth... but you don't care what the truth is, because you're just hateful.

  • @yankee82090 I'm still for 100% full blown communism myself. It has a great track record, unlike Capitalism. Communism will get money back in pockets of people and help business grow. GOVERNMENT CREATES JOBS! THE PEOPLE/BUSINESS DON'T CREATE JOBS!

  • @ConorJNixon

Im with you on the communist thing in the last 30 years how much has China grown? How much have we, time to get rid of the President and bring in our Premier. I know its out there but think about it.

  • @yankee82090 libertarian. capitalism isnt decided by greedy people but greedy people can exist in it. what you own you can discriminate with. you cannot use force. that is libertarianism and it is the only perfect way.

  • isnt capitalism great....

fuck the mixed economy and vote socialist party usa (socialism is not communism for the dumb asses who dont know difference) also if u think america is purely capitalist, u know nothing about politics.

but this is what greed does, u cant count of these companies to help u, u are just a $ to them

  • i saw this film in the uk ..it was aired at 1:45 in the morning in the uk yesterday..i was shocked at the level of corruption in the us..1% of the us population owns 95% of the wealth and the us citizens are treated worse than dogs. on a more positive note.it highlighted how solidarity and unity scares the shit out of the govt..people are the real power in the world..the enemy within is the us govt.. im scottish its no picnick here either but we are ready to oust the uk govt..good luck usa

  • @EUlakota When you are offered a job you review all of the benefits upfront. You should know what to expect. In this case this family should not have expected anything from Walmart.

Now, on the insurance side. Walmart took insurance out so they get paid in the event their employee dies.

Getting away from simplicity, why would a company big enough to cover small losses get insurance always wins and the publicity is negative. That is the only question here.

  • go to school...get a good job...dont be a peasant....

  • @1986sjp You're an clueless idiot.

  • I tip my hat to wal-mart for being so cunning.

  • @EUlakota

Did you graduate the 3rd grade yet, tool?

  • Please someone answer this for me (I don't know the answer and while I could ask either of my parents, both lawyers, I do not feel the need) : Can you keep life insurance from a company once you quit the job?

I do not see why you would be able to. This woman quit her job, therefore the policy would no longer be valid to Wal-Mart because the investment in the employee would yield no return.

Therefore, shouldn't Wal-Mart be the recipient of a payout if the coverage had not been nulled yet?

  • does anybody know what the clip at the very start of the movie is? its an amateur clip of a family inside their house, as the cops approach their land, then bust through the door to make an arrest. I cant seem to find it anywhere online.

  • America is a plutocracy isn't it? This is a country that defends the rights of the already-rich to get richer as the middle class dwindles. Do the math, conservatives! Now you know why the world thinks we're stupid.

  • If socialism in a country does not do what is best for all, then its not real socialism , simple. Socialism can and does work, when it does what is best for all, when it works for the population and not just the individuals (elites). When it does not give more value to some and none to others and where it is not based on competition and profit. Thats why we are working on an equal money system. read more about it on our website and more important: join and help!

  • So...what happened? Wal-mart didn't cover her medical bills for asthma? Hmmm I knew Wal-mart was evil after all they do pay their employees a crappy minimum wage by cousin used to work there and he quited cuz it sucked....

  • I've now watched this 3 times. I can't see what was so bad about what Walmart did. Infact I think it's a poor business move.

When someone passes away, you shouldn't get somethin out of it...... I hope if I die my wife gets paid out through my life insurance policy. And if my work has paid to have life insurance on me, sobeit, I don't see the issue. If they are gunning for me, thats different.

  • @ScotterS69

They're not allowed to get away with that in any other country (except maybe in Canada). Could it be that there may be something wrong with that?

  • @kkliper I hate that argument "everyone else is doing it".

I actually like the idea of businesses buying insurance incase an employee passes on. If I have a venture, and I have a partner who plays a critical role, I would calculate the value of that person and buy insurance incase they die and the business can no longer function or would take a big hit.

In this case I don't see the benefit when the insurance companies always win. It's just a dumb move by Walmart.... fiscally.

  • To be honest..... I fail to see anything wrong with this.

I must be missing something. Someone explain what is wrong about this. Is it because Walmart takes insurance policies out on people? That actually seems like a half decent business move to reduce risk.... that being said all insurance companies win and Walmart is big enough to absorb that risk..... It would be more of a small business tactic.

I'd be insulted they only insured me for $81,000.00.

  • /watch?v=ik30ijaBgUA

  • Why is moore acting like Wal-Mart did something wrong? They didn't hurt that woman. I mean, it was a super sad story, but really, nobody at wal-mart caused her to die. I don't understand what is so wrong.

Plus, because of the way life insurance works, statistically, wal-mart can't make money on those policies. There has got to be something else to this.

  • Why is moore acting like Wal-Mart did something wrong? They didn't hurt that woman. I mean, it was a super sad story, but really, nobody at wal-mart caused her to die. I don't understand what is so wrong.

  • this is porn........emotional porn....why showing those crying kids?

  • i have no doubt that this video page is full of liberals that hate america and its history, what ever you have the right just like michael moore ass... Its true that this is an ugly thing wal mart does.... but i am a true moderate and i got somthing for everybody here... You see the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT does the exact same thing, so is that OK??? everyone is right for careing but this is double edge sword and while this fat fuck makes these radical political video you lose sight of the real truth.

  • I love how they use the peasant word- you can judge a person [or corp.] by the words they use!

  • I guess the insurance walmart offers it's employees wasn't that good if they owed over $100,000 in medical bills for such a short hospitalization..It is called dead peasants because of the corporate elite's attitude towards it's employees.. anybody that thinks the people at the top value those that aren't a member of the elite classis r crazy

  • Comment removed

  • @kkliper No, a socialist economy is very bad. What is needed is a socialist governement to check a capitalist economy.

  • Just a cool fact. Walmart actually HELPS small business's example in Lynwood Washington a bowling alley was a bout to go out of business until Walmart opened and the bowling alley boomed. Other Small Business are: Bowen Recovery Center Coin Center Hot Yoga Micro Computer systems AAshiya Teriyaki Barber EZ Style Salon Cafe Terra Verde Car Stereo Plus Hai & Son's Pho Ignition Interlock Autosafe Martha Lake Dental Center Prince Cleaners Smokin' Sams Tokyo Spa Tropical Tan of Martha Lake
  • @kkliper

Just a couple quotes from Alexander Hamilton and Thomas Jeffersons (The economic founding fathers)

  • -The Democracy will cease to exist when you take away from those who will work and give to those who will not.

-Agriculture, manufacturers, commerce, and navigation, the four pillars of our prosperity, are then most thriving when left most free to INDIVIDUAL enterprise.

-A wise and frugal government which shall leave them otherwise free to regulate their own pursuits of industry and improvement

-I place economy among the 1st & most important virtues, and public debt as the greatest of danger

  • @ssahagun1

I agree with your first point. The capitalist class and the wealthy DON'T DO ANY WORK of VALUE. Which is why they should be eliminated. Next!

  • @kkliper

Have you ever made over a million dollars a year?

Are you aware that 2/3 of the 400 richest Americans are entirely self made!!!!

bottom line m a majority of the wealthy are not born with a spoon in their mouths like you think. they work harder than most Americans

You should try being an entrepreneur sometimes you might like it

  • @ssahagun1

Self-made at transferring wealth from others to themselves. And you're conflating entrepreneur w/ rich person. Employees at Goldman Sachs or in any other wealth transferring industry ARE NOT entrepreneurs. You're giving me very atypical responses that are almost cliche'd.

  • @kkliper

Go up and down the list of the forbes 400

you'll find 99% are business owners.

Thos golman sachs employees loose all ther wealth as fast as they get rich.

No, if you actually study economic distrubtion you find they need t employee people to run thier business's!!!

  • -A national debt will be to us a national blessing.

-In framing a government ... You must first enable the government to control the governed, and in the next place, oblige it to control ITSELF.

-tendency of a national bank is to increase public and private credit. Former gives power to the state, for the protection of its rights and interests: & latter facilitates and extends the operations of commerce among individuals.

  • @kkliper socialism WILL NOT WORK. It's an admirable ideology, but nothing more. Few tenants of the capitalist creed are for the good of the country, but are necessary - but not in it's over-saturated form.

  • @kkliper you're an idiot

  • @blueandorange93

    Brilliant counterpoint.

  • @kkliper do you listen to Glenn Beck? Do you know what happens to countries that vote for socialists? Do you know what Britain's National Health Service says about their "peasants"?

  • @kkliper now to be fair, i hate glenn beck, dont blame wal-mart and i actually realize that socialism isnt evil, it isnt the nazis. it is just a different style of economy

  • @kkliper

it's not about socialism what we have for example in europe isn't socialism, socialism is MARXISM idiots, what we have in europe is a regulated free market with strong unions, much like the usa was in the NEW DEAL era.

  • @kkliper the true problem is partisan hacks, who use everything they see as an opportunity to bash the other side rather than focusing on how to make this country better. i mean good god, can you watch ANYTHING without mentioning glenn beck?

  • that poor family is shattered, you can see the pain in the kids

  • Those corporate bastards!

  • shes pretty aight...

  • okok, so she quit the job, then she got into a coma, then she died, and somehow it's walmart's fault. so did they know about how the insurance worked? btw, nomads dont have an insurance policy, but you dont see them crying about it.

  • @MassDynamic stfu troll you dont know what your talking about, be in there shoes asswhipe im sure you would be upset and pissed to.

  • F Walmart

  • working class people are subjects own by capital class!!

  • believe this "movie" did better in Cuba and other socialist countries then here in the US. What a piece of garbage.

  • The irony is that Hollywood loves to rail against capitalism, greed & the profit motive, but many of their problems can be traced to the greed of people in Hollywood itself.

  • the way the american government is set up just boggles my mind...

a proper country should nationalize some, if not most of its assets and resources...that way, they collect taxes (money) from these resources and intelligently spend it on social services (healthcare, education, etc.) for its citizens.

When you give too many freedoms to corporations (private industries), they make ALOT of money and bribe politians to implement policies that benefit the these corporations.

  • @ico26 they won't do that. they'll just use the big scary word, socialism, and everyone goes running for the hills, without weighing the "pros" and "cons".

  • @orwellianspy27

    lollll...

thats how they made canadian healthcare sound terrible lol

    "socialized medicine!" nooo! :P

  • a company guy said , hey i know what we can call these commoners when they die. DEAD PEASANTS. good idea joe you get raise for that. and maybe a little bonus at the end of the week.
