  • Thank you for posting this song and the translation of the lyrics into English. One tiny correction - vestito gessato is a striped suit when worn by a man. My wife is Italian and I always joke with her when she refers to my dresses (women's clothes) when she means my suits (men's clothes).

  • bocconcini and mozzarella these 2 Italian foods..

  • My mom loves listing to that song cause she speaks Italian a little bit, cause my parents had moved to Italy from Poland and they lived there about half a year I think and they never taught me to speak Italian A little bit just like my brother and I speak Polish a little bit, not very much as my friends can speak Polish very good and kind of a lot, cause I never often speak Polish to my mom and I have sometimes trouble with memorizing the new words for like 5 times just like

  • actually 'al dente' means ... 'to the bite'...so it means perfectly cook. not less not more....it means that when u bite into the pasta or the vegetables or whatever, that u have nothing bad to say bacuase ist in perfect consistancy for your teeth.

  • and today we have Berlusconi as "italiano vero"...a indecence!! The italiano vero is the worker in "cassaintegrazione" who can not make ends meet, but he fight for his family..and not Berlusconi who makes the laws for its interests while is not interested to the problems of Italians..

  • @kiulooo i couldnt agree any more nor less mate, i aint italian but i agree on what i understood from what you said.

  • Love Toto and our neighbours.

  • To much America on posters. LOL. So true though. Even though i am American, I do agree, there is TOO much america. Ugh. But i love this song! It's great.

  • Indian version better than the original ??????? Some powerful drugs you're on buddy.

    Toto rocks !!!

  • Your opinion says so. My opinion says otherwise. Its a matter of preference.

  • @eajinabi Is there an Indian version of this song???

  • Yes its called "nasha ye pyar ka nasha" . The indian version and the italian version were sung with two different meanings. The tune is very simmialr.

  • @eajinabi thank you but I still think that Italian version is much better than the indian one.

p.s: I like the indian music!

  • I guess its a matter of taste. Though the tune is same, the lyrics and vocal styles are completely different.

  • Well maybe it's the lyrics that makes you like it. The re are a lot of songs that I like only because of it's lyrics!

  • @baghdeda Actually the hindi lyrics are very typical, nothing spectacular. The style in which Udit Narayan sang it has more appeal.

  • @eajinabi I collect Toto's songs in all the languages, if you are interested, look my playlist. there are much more versions of this song: spanish, greek, french, finnish...

  • Thanks! This singer (Toto) must be a very popular singer in Italy .

  • @eajinabi hi is not a very famous singer in Italy, he is the most sung Italian composer in the world (of those who are alive nowadays). I'm his fan, and I am Russian :)

  • @baghdeda

U shud also consider the fact that the indian version was shot arnd 15 years after the Italian version, so we must have used better instruments... still these copycat music dir's spoil ancient india's reputation or originality... n they call it Inspired.. funny isn't it..

  • @baghdeda yes, Anu Malik has Copied this...

  • @eajinabi Maybe for you, yes. People usually like the version they heard and liked first the better. It is not clever to make judgement in taste.

  • I'm Italian and I'm proud of that!

  • Perche noi siamo Li'taliano vero...! that's why!

  • Is he singing the same song?

  • What does Partisan mean?

  • i think it was a political party in the 80s in Italy

  • Thank you

  • Italian Partisans were the resistance movement in World War II. They fought against the German occupation and against Fascism. Alessandro Pertini was Italian President in the 80s and he was a Partisan during the war.

  • Thank you. you are smart

  • @pelizete was anyone that used guerrilla warfare in the last world war

  • sorry i do not know

  • @pelizete like a freedom fighter i think

  • Thanks for the explanations bagheda! I always thought this was just another song, but I see now, how poetic and beautiful and, let's be fair, poetic it is.

The guy who sung songs in her language also knew Italian! I want to learn the Language perhaps just perhaps. Not sure how the only none Italian in class would feel like. I like the culture too, certain dishes I just might have once in a while Italian.
