A lady named Margaret MacDonald in the year 1830 had "visions" and "revelations" of this so called rapture that was to happen. Well what else happened in 1830? Joseph Smith had visions that would later become mormonism as well as a one lady having visions of the virgin Mary saying to use holy water, and to wear graven images etc...

The usual text is the reference to Rev.12, where the dragon goes after "the rest of [the woman's] offspring" - that's the tribulation period. I think the 7 years are from Daniel. The whole thing is put together as a patchwork of texts from the Daniel, Revelation, the gospels, Ezekiel 38-39.

The word "Rapture" is a Latin word, "rapiemur", in the "Vulgate" version of the bible, for "being caught". Rossing's reasoning would be correct if all of the scriptures she alluded to refer to the same event, i.e. the "second "coming of Christ. But, they don't. Paul is the ONLY ONE speaking of BELIEVERS being "caught up" in the air; all of the other writers ONLY speak of UNBELIEVERS being "removed", from the earthly kingdom. One event is vertical, "caught up", the other horizontal, "removed".

Dr. Rossing is right in every way. If you study the HISTORY of when this "rapture stuff" started, it began in the 1890's. It is based upon a theology called DISPENSATIONALISM. If you want to believe in the rapture, you have to accept all the doctrines of Dispensationalism too. This is the doctrine of groups such as Seventh Day Adventists and Jehovah Witnesses as well. WAKE UP and do not be so Biblically ILLITERATE about these things!

The rapture comes from the original language text and it says to be caught up.Ok so what do you want to call it, call it what you want but the bible says it will happen.And the only people that fear are those who their conscious lets them know they are not right with God. If there was a rupture WHO would the devil make war with then? Why does 1 thess 2:8 say the enemy gets incinerated at Jesus' appearence. So, how then can rupture be true? Noboby leave till he shows as per Matt 3:12 (the reaping angels),13:38-39. What about 2 Pet 3:10, Isa 64:11 66:15, Ps 50:3, Ps 68:2-3?Plainly says when he shows up the One time this place gets destroyed Period! So, rupture heresy is just that. The rupture theology has a major logistical problem.

I agree, more folks need to see this video. I reiterate what I've said over and over-we are IN the beginning of the tribulations. Ask yourself--what IF the rapture doesn't come--where will you stand? Will you denounce Christ for not fulfilling what you consider a promise (which He didn't promise at all) or will you remain faithful-giving your life for Him? Some will hold to this theory until it is too late--some will prepare themselves for an alternative scenario. I am ready either way.

I agree. Also, people need to understand that Jesus will only come back once, at the very end. People who think He's coming back twice are most likely going to be deceived when the Antichrist comes and tells everyone the he is Jesus.
