Superb images you have taken, real reportage and with a Leica as well. I can't stretch to a Leica rangefinder yet, but my Olympus E-P1 serves me well. With the optical viewfinder and prime lens, it feels like a rangefinder. I love my Nikon dSLR, but it can be a real handful carrying it around everyhwhere. Keep up the hardwork and thanks for sharing:-)
Unless your a professional i don t really think theres much point in paying thousands for a Leica, you can take great pics with a TZ7 or a LX3 and know ones really going to know the difference unless they look really closely.
I agree. Leicas are ridiculously expen$ive! But in all fairness, they are amazing cameras to shoot with. The M8.2 is not a 'point & shoot'. You need to actually focus while composing. I love all the simple manual options. It's old school photography & I enjoy it more. I've gotten a lot of great snaps with my LX3, but nothing beats the quality of a Leica.
Leica, a dream. I have a small D-Lux camera who make it easy to make fast snapshots without see though the viewer, directly from within the hand. It sounds extraterrestral, but Leica change the way to make pictures. Sad story there aren't D-Lux cameras no more. Respect from Belgium
The G1 is a great little camera. I travelled all through India with it. I also use the LX3, excellent camera in low light & shots video. Leicas are way too expensive, but nice to use & richer colors.
Thanks for your thoughts. I realize the 'camera is just a machine' but what a machine! I wish I could paint, then maybe I wouldn't shoot these snaps. But it does offer the possibility of capturing a moment that is now forever which I can share with the world.
haha i wish I could paint also! I wish I cold take a decent photograph too! the hand too is just a machine. an interface between the mind and medium. thats what i was trying to get at I guess. im no longer ideologically propainting only. im all for photography. these images sold me on it! hope you share more some time! cheers
im a painting fan. i went through a phase though where i questioned the function of painting. why not just take a picture? i concluded however that painting afforded the ability to superimpose subjectivity onto an image. how could raw photographs do that? a camera is just a machine.
