@dirtbikemike69 That would be cool but where would they start? It would probably mean doing some kind of conversion on the CRV (the HRV isn't really 4wd) or taking on someone else's tech. It would be really cool to see a 4wd civic with a boosted F20 on dirt though. There used to be some teams running turbo NSX's for racing. Would be nice to see them in road trim. The NSX used to keep with far more powerful rivals anyway. Give it the same or more power and it's in it's own league.

I dont get all the props to 4 banger fwd car "hanging" in there. For my money, I want the one that is faster, not the one that is ultimately handicapped by the laws of physics (i.e. inferior fwd layout) and an outgunned small displacement motor.

@rvind92g All things being equal, there is absolutely no performance advantage that a fwd car has over rwd or awd. The only advantage that fwd has is lower cost and that understeer is more predictable for inexperienced drivers, hence the reason why its the preferred choice drivetrain layout for economy cars. @yammieR12003 In terms of acceleration, yeah the RWD has a better acceleration and speed over the straights. But FWD has better handling. A good set up FWD is better at handling than a good set up RWD car. A FWD car has problems handling immense amount of power, which cause wheel hop and torque steer, something not present in RWD cars. But when you are going down a twisty windy road or on a undulated, possibly slippery road, a FWD will have more grip to counter the tarmac, with LSD

@rvind92g You are confusing "predictable" handling with better actual performance, as measured by a stopwatch. Each tire only has a certain amount of grip avail for braking, accel and turning. A front set of tires asked to do all three of these things simply cannot generate more grip than a set of tires that's asked to do just braking and turning. Also, a rwd car can be optimized to 50/50, whereas a fwd is typically 60/40, contributing more to understeer.

yes u are right, sorry, JDM Type R is 225, and this Mugen RR is 245. But Mugen also offers Edition with 2.2 K20 260-265 hp.

the Mugen Civic has the best exhaust sound and looks way better than the competing cars, its a shame honda doesnt like using turbos on their cars, they should take the 240hp 2.3L Turbo engine from the Acura RDX and put it on the new 2010 Civic and bring it to the States as a Mugen Civic Type R......IT WILL RULE !!!!!

Torque steer will always be "controllable" to a point, but when you accelerate while turning, torque steer can cause terrible adverse handling effects. It's not efficient enough to use yet.

OK I'm baffled, and confused. first off why did the M3 slow down at the end of the race right before the final turn (6:11)? He could have braked a little later. Also why is the M3second? I thought it finished first. I dont see total times.

I love these best motoring races, but i think sometimes they put racing aside for entertainment factor and try and make the races more exciting. Ive also heard people saying that they favor japanese cars

well, becos its for TV, you can't blame them for making it entertaining. likewise, we all know how boring it is to see M.Schmacher winning races without having to do any overtaking. However, you can see how fast the cars REALLY are by comparing the TA (Time attack) lap times at the end of the vid. The M3 DCT did a 1.05min which is nearly a second quicker a lap than any car out there. interesting enough, its also over a second quicker than than a manual M3 on the same circuit.
