BJJ is ineffective. It will not help anyoe in a real life situation as by the time your trying to pull of a submission, the other guy is gonna be either flailing around or punching you in the nuts. The best Martial Art to learn for street fidhts or self defence is either Muay Thai or Krav Maga

@earydog a mount basic arm bar can easily be countered, soon as the opponent goes on his back you use that momentum to roll yourself to your knees, where then you can stand up and try to pull your arm out, (be careful they can turn it into a triangle choke) but if you get your arm out its best to push their legs away to major pas into side control, hope this helped :)
@earydog B3nbo1194 is right, but if the armbar is sunk in and your elbow is locked, you will not get out of it before your arm breaks. This will only happen if your opponent is fast and not very predictable. Armbar is sort of a gamble, if you mess it up you sacrifice mount or whichever position you are in, but if you sink it in it usually causes the tap.

Dude, go read the Gracie official website history, it says they were introduced to Judo around 1914 by Esai Maeda. Japanese ju jutsu didn't include just ground fighting, and judo was inculded, and Judo is what the Gracies were introduced to Ju jutsu in the form of Sport Judo originally.

I'm confused i get that it is using a fulcrum at the elbow to hyper extend the arm but to create the countering forces it looks like im having to use my crotch as to exert the force. this is not one of the homophobic comments that just seems painfull is there something im missing?

BJJ was derived from Judo, not japanese JJ.
Judo was derived from Japanese jiu jitsu, and brazilian jiu jitsu was derived from Judo.

Dude, go read the Gracie official website history, it says they were introduced to Judo around 1914 by Esai Maeda. Japanese ju jutsu didn't include just ground fighting, and judo was inculded, and Judo is what the Gracies were introduced to Ju jutsu in the form of Sport Judo originally.

@Cornerstonerulez Wow, SuperPanthour is right, Ju jitsu was developed my Samurai's, and was later used for sport, It was made illegal and Judo was born from Japanese Ju Jitsu, A japanese intructor taught the Gracies and Brazillion Jiu Jitsu was born. They are a very similiar martial art. I'm currently a yellow belt.

It really depends on the age you are. If you are 13-17 you maybe get a boner do to hormone growth. Just because you may see someone get a boner that doesn't mean there gay. it could be simply body growth. usually when you are an adult your hormones slow down and you get less boners that appear out of no where.
