The profanity is too bad - makes it hard to share widely, but this is one of the only videos with that "roaring" behaviour. I called in and shot a small bull in Sask in 2006 making the exact same call - it was not a cow (as Guide807 suggested). However to confirm his claim partially, a lone cow approached my hunting partner Oct 16, 2010 and made the exact same sound.

i just did that on oct 1st.. called a 51 3/4 incher out to my guest 5 yards....intense..wish i had a camera man... i posed as another bull and he came in from 300 yards.. swayin heavy when he gat close really made hit get mad...and in ontario also

last fall we had a bull come rushing out into a pond and it had a bit of a growl, sounded like a grizzly bear, i was totally shocked how it sounded. it ran back into the bush before we got a shot.

My brother was in the same situation...4 or 5 moose in a clear cut/ plantation the big one fought off the other ones and was comin after my brother he shot him about 30 feet away broad side ..man those things a tough

That "roaring" you refer to is not an aggresive bull. That is a cow calling her calf which she has become sperated from. I've killed several calfs and had the cow do that "bark'/"roar" for a long period of time.

The roaring was not a cow in this instance, but the "smaller" bull. We watched him across the cut doing the roaring and then he of course showed up later again to take on the dead bull.

Drive north on Hwy 17 to NW Ontario. Go north until you find 2 lakes, one on your left, the other on your right. That's the spot.

Keebler: All in good fun, I know. As I'm sure you are aware, big ones are few and far between and there isn't anywhere where you'll find them behind every tree. We were really lucky to set up between 2 mature bulls that hadn't hooked up with a cow yet. FYI the bull has been scored (204 1/8") and is now the pending Ontario record bowkill. The previous record stood for 23 years. TFT will be having it panel scored at Bass Pro in Vaughan Mills on March 20-21. Stop by and check it out.

In Ontario you need to wear blaze orange during the rifle season only. This hunt was in the archery only season. You can hunt with a bow during rifle season, but blaze orange is required.
