  • That viper looks more like a demonic earthworm.

  • I like it more in croatian version... Songs were in english, but when they talk then was croatian.... :)

  • I like the cute little flashbacks he has in that song. I want to see the inf version of him again.

  • I had the old vhs tape and lost it, got a new one and it's not this version! Made me so upset, because the scene when he goes blind was always my favorite, it's so emotional D':

  • @DarkGaarafan17 I too ended up with the newer version and missed that scene and I also missed the one where they explained what that brown little bump really was and how it came to existence. That scene has also always made me wonder. I just wonder if there is a DVD version with all the scenes included?

  • @DarkGaarafan17 As with you and BugFolk have I too ended up with the edited version (on VHS, not on DVD), and I got it at a library sale around two years ago. It came from a distributor for movies used for family discussion. When I watched I too became upset with certain scenes taken out including the part where Shando goes blind, but I also remember that for a second his eyes fade into pitch black and here it was taken out. Now that's one little scene missing from this version!

  • Last night, first I dreamt that some preschool teacher had this "my play a tune" book that had nursery rhymes in it to go with pictures of Gallavants. And then I dreamt that that a kindergarten teacher had another "my play a tune book" but with pictures of Ovide and the Gang in it. Do you have any idea if either such thing exists?

  • I remember watching this as a kid. At 3:28 (when you see his eyes) bricks were shat...to this day its still a little bit unsettling.

On a lighter note I like his voice actor, its reminds me of Mark Baker (the guy who voiced Raggedy Andy)

  • Shando singing made me cry as a kid. I come back after 12 years and... *sob* not a *sob* single tear...

    WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHH!!!!!

  • The blind scene and the worms were the scariest things I've ever scene as a kid.

  • His song made me cry. Is that bad?

  • Shado's blindness song is what kept this movie in my head for 20+ years. I always remembered it.

  • How can you people call the blind scene pointless? It helped scare him straight, making him realise he'd been goofing off.

  • @AnonGirl88 I have to agree with your thought on that. He definitely changed after that point. It's a shame the newer release I have cut that scene out. I guess it made it quicker to watch and a better pace for small children, but still disappointing to lose it.

  • His eyes are creepin' me out.

  • The blind scene is kind of annoying, in my opinion... Love Eegee's song, though! It gets stuck in my head all the time. XD Along with the Vanter Viper one.

  • This is indeed such a great movie... I watched the (surprisingly good) Findubbed version at least a dozen times when I was a kid.

These parts where Shando wanders around the caves and goes blind were super scary and somehow quite depressing too. Still among my favourite parts, though.

  • Aww. Poor Shando. :(

That song has stayed with me well into my adulthood.

  • *tear*

    T^T

  • I kinda find the blind scene overly dramatic and unnecessary.

  • OMG, i used to cry when i was little when he went blind! 8c it was so sad!

  • @FrayGirl123 To be honest so would I, I'm actually looking that scene up right now specifically to figure out why, it feels like so long ago.

  • @FrayGirl123 i still used to cry! =(

  • I didn't remember the part where Shando goes temporarily blind until now. And that thing that he falls on at 3:17 reminds me of the Ka-bump!

  • Remember kids: Crying cures blindness! XD

I remember being disturbed by this whole bit as a kid, but now that I know so many blind people, I find it a bit...pointless. XP

  • @stokerbramwell Yeah...it is a bit pointless...

  • @stokerbramwell it was temporary from the light. XD

  • i guess they do not want kids to be scared and terrified that's why they censored that part. it was the saddest thing to watch Shando become blind.

  • That's so weird! Shando never went blind in the video version!

When he falls, he lands on something that looks like a kabump...

They skip so many parts in the Video/DVD!!!! >:(

  • @AmiAmorada It was in the VHS version. I have that version, but left it at my parent's house.

  • Shando going blind mentally scarred me as a child too. XD

There's a DVD version? Why would they edit it?? It's perfect as it was.

  • Omg, it is so scary when he goes blind! 0_o

  • Did you get this on DVD? Because I did and three of the scenes were cut out (my fav. part w/ shando's blindness was). If you did were did you get it from?? Please help. I don't know why my DVD was edited.

  • I had the video, but mine was editted too, lots of parts were cut out. :\

    Shando goes blind??

  • yes, he does. i used to have the VHS, but i recently ordedered the DVD but when I got it and watched it so much was missing. O.o that is so weird.

  • huh, so how did Ellescene upload all the missing parts that weren't on the video or DVD? and where can I get every part on dvd?

    :P

  • Mine ws never editted.

  • Anded he lefted daht baybee eggedededed all by its sellffish. shamed ed ed ed.
