  • great vid !!! my buddy was riding my yz250 and when he stopped tha motor was still reving high so i had him take it back to my garage and i cleaned the bike and started it so i could check it out.was not doing that anymore than when i took offf i went to put it in second and the clutch cable snapped on me, so anyway i was wondering if you think that could have been the problem or its something way worse. any ideas?? thank you

  • @neckcutter1 Hard to say. I'd replace the cable and see how she runs.

  • right by the clutch lever where the cable goes in, like next to the screws. you know how it all those slits line up so the cable can slide in? the last slit on mine is not lined up at all. its turned all the way around. i tried loosening it and turning it with pliers but it wont turn. got any idea?

  • @motovance Could be cross threaded or just stuck. Also the cable could have a lot of tension on it. Try to take some slack off the cable then try to spin it.

  • My clutch o my yz 125 is really stiff, idunno if its time to change or what, any help?

  • @MrYammy4eva Check the cable. Could be a new one or need lubed.

  • Is it as easy as in ur vid to do on a 2005 yz 125 thanks

  • @Laverty84r Yep

  • hey i have a kx 125 2 stroke the clutch isnt working i would put it in gear with out clutch and i try putting clutch in and it dose ingage yu can feel it working but it still will not move when its in gear what would it be ?

  • @corey5796 If it won't move when it's in gear it may not be the clutch. It could be the tranny. If the cltuch is working, you'll have to split the case to check out the tranny.

  • what chain do you have on that bike? looks pretty good is it a D.I.D?

  • @crimson22s Actually it's a Rocky Moutain model. So far, so good.

  • Ok Johnny here's my first question, I routed my clutch cable today to the proper place, and now it only works when I roll start it in first without using the clutch. The clutch works in the rest of the gears while running. If I put it in first while it's not running and pull in the clutch it won't budge. I hope that wasn't to confusing but that's the best way I could explain it.

  • @MotorCrossification Not sure I know exactly what you are saying but it sounds like the cable is hung up.

  • hey i got a 1978 rm 125.. and i guess i messed the transmission up on it.. i was riding down my road with my friend on it, and then it just quit.. it wont go in any gear, and when im just setting there i can shift up like 9 times..but i can still start it and it will run and idle.. anyone know what kind of problem i got? i think its the transmission but im not sure, and if it is the transmission anyone know how much it would be for this type of dirt bike?

  • @mickieftw Sounds like you may have a broken or a few broken shift forks. The first thing I would do is tear it down to check out the damage. There isn't any easy way around it.

  • @Johnnysshop alright man thanks for your advise, i dont know much about tearing into a motor but i might get someone to help me out a little bit, but is shift forks high?

  • @mickieftw On a 78 I'm not sure. If you can get by with finding items on eBay you should be able to find decent pricing.

  • i was driving down the road today and my ball and wire came out of the handlebar clutch. i ordered the part. how long will it take for me to put it on myself? also i don't know alot about motors and stuff.

  • @yodaddyxx Maybe 15-20 minutes at most.

  • Johnnysshop

  • does the nob on the asv adjust the length or tension ?

  • @blkout15 Length. Tension would be done at the spring on the case.

  • i put my cable on my kx 250 and when its on I had to pull on the perch a little bit... Im just afraid when I let the handle all the way out the clutch will be slipping, do you know if it will be okay? thanks!

  • @motocrossXisXawesome I would think it would be okay. How far did you have to pull it?

  • @Johnnysshop about 3/4 of an inch

  • @motocrossXisXawesome Hmm.. I dunno, just have to try. Cross your fingers...

  • hi im rebuilding my kx 80 and was woundering how to reduce the slack on the cable ??? :)

  • @MrMxsam You should have an adjuster on the levers or in the middle of the cable. Other than that, not sure without seeing the setup.

  • How are the Motion pro T2 Clutch cable i have heard that they are thicker then stock and have a heavy clutch pull ??

  • @webbslinger999 They are a bit thicker.. Clutch pull feels about the same as stock to me. When they are new they are a bit tight.. After a few pulls they free up.

  • so i put my clutch cable on my bike and its installed on the bottom and the top but i dont know to how to tighten the cable so right now the cable has no tetion on it when i squeeze the lever in so can u help me .( the clutch end of the cable has a peice with a bolt on the then just a single bolt then another peice with a blot on it)

  • @edgars28 You should have a knob on your clutch perch (where the lever connects). Assuming you have the correct cable, turning the knob counter clockwise will do the trick..

  • I INSTALLED MY CABLE AND I HAVE TOO MUCH PLAY. I HAVE IT MAXXED OUT ON THE ADJUSTMENT BOTH TOP N BOTTOM. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO ? THX

  • @jamesrhcp78 Check your clutch plates and make sure you have the correct cable.

  • @Johnnysshop def the right cable. i dont understand how it has too much slack

  • @jamesrhcp78 Maybe a manufacture defect? Did you lay it next to the old cable to make sure they are the same?

  • @Johnnysshop old cable was gone when i got the bike. can u shorten it somehow /?

  • @jamesrhcp78 Not really. You can add some washers or some other material to lengthen the overall outer sheathing, which will shorten the actual cable.

  • I INSTALLED MY CABLE AND I HAVE TOO MUCH PLAY. I HAVE IT MAXXED OUT ONT THE ADJUSTMENT BOTH TOP N BOTTOM. WHAT ELSE CAN I DO ? THX

  • sorry for all the questions im slowly starting to rebuild parts of my yz250f but how did you get the clutch and brake lines in grey, on the rocky mountain they look black, also what series is your asv clutch the f3 or f5? thanks

  • @GuitarKid905 Oh no problem at all. The lines are Motion Pro T2 lines, they only come in gray actually. The regular Motion Pro lines are black. These are a step up from those. The levers are F3 version.

  • hey man i watched this thanks... now i can go racing again once again thanks

  • @ulric1212 Sweet, glad I could help!

  • where do you get the blue line? vent line?

  • @skidoorev600ho Rocky Mountain ATV

  • @Johnnysshop do you know if you could like get it at like a local place or do you have to go to a dealer for the buel stuff it looks great eh hope your getting over the cold!

  • @skidoorev600ho My local dealer doesn't carry it but I'm sure some could order it.

  • beautiful bike johnny! man its looking so so very nice! and i agree ASV's are NICE!

  • @2008yz250f4ever Thanks!
