@mattattackrawr Well, no not really. After CYB, they changed and found their own sound and a lot of things in their music changed and Oli wanted do make a change to his vocals aswell. In Suicide Season, Oli's recognizable "yell-scream" really stood out and some people may think that this "yell-scream" is a fucked up high scream, but it isn't, not at all. However, he did have some problems with drinking + screaming which he quickly realized wasn't working for him.

First off, we have the regular growls and grunts, which he uses his false chords for. His yell-scream, which is what's really makes Oli Sykes recognizable, is not a fry-scream. Get your facts right.

In my opinion, the yell screams are the most "natural" type of screams. You really do scream, it's not like the fry screams where you add the distortion on top of your voice. The false chord type of screams really do feel like a scream.

1. The camera sucks

2. He had a sore throat

3. He was trying something new

4. He used the screaming technique he thought would fit good to the song, to make the song as good as possible
