You're really good man, awesome guitar btw, seriously would have to be one of the best metal guitars when in stock. THere are only 2 things I would have done differently before I got the guitar but now I dont even care about them and that is I would not have an upward facing headstock and would have had shark teeth rather than piranha teeth for the inlays but i have gotten so used to it I haven't even noticed.

the old version, which i have too, doesn't have 2 volumes. The other one is a gain boost which at clean channels boosts the volume. The battery in your guitar is for that reason because the EMG-HZ are passive pickups and sucky ones if u ask me

YES!! i own one. don't buy the epiphone, the jackson is wayy better, i can do palm muting pinch harmonics (sqeals) and whatever else. and on one of the nobs you pull it up or push it down and you choose between passive sounding pickups or active(basically you adjusting the "heat" of the pick ups) hope this helped

You won't do a dive bomb without a Floyd Rose, but still - if you're looking for a really well made, mid-priced guitar, forget about all of Korean-made stuff, like LTD's - get a bloody Japanese Jackson and you won't be sorry.

I dont like dive bombs personally. They can be achieved with other pedals likely maybe the whammy pedal. But I rely on speed tactics, like sweep picking and speed picking, tapping etc I agree with you on the mid-priced guitars though. I hate LTDs because they have a locking nut which is annoying to tune with. Jacksons I don't think have one. Not to mention they have some godly EMGS.

depends in one single fact, gain, all woods are the same, pickup layout is the same, so u´re left with one choice, do u want a guitar that will squeal u´re ears out or one that u have to work harder to do so, btw im in the same position has u and i still havent decided XD cause i already have a DK2 with floyd(passive, same bridge pickup has the DK2T)...and a RR24 with floyd (active, same pickup has this guitar) and comparing both... u´ll be good with any of them XD

This is the sound im looking for in the distortion. I have this guitar, i buy it recently on december in guitar center; but it has passive pickups emg hz. It seems to me tha the sound i have is celar but a little "muddy", i need more power, im looking for the slayer style sound, so i believe i need the actives pickups 81-85(kfk).

dude i bought a jackson DXMG with passive pickups (EMG HZ) and switched them out for zakk wylde active emgs and it murders....i play more deftones type rock but its good for anything i would imagine (except country)

The old style DKMG and DKMGT had passive EMG's and a turbo charger with a push pull knob to turn on the boost.
