  • I attended this free gig on the Friday evening in Sefton Park and BC were fabulous - immediately went and bought their first album afterwards. The following night Nick Heywood of Haircut One Hundred played a free gig but abandoned it half way through after one of the many bottles hurled by a gang of nasty punks hit the guitar neck and cut his hand (so the announcer claimed). Didn't like HOH but NH was good enough to play for free and if the punks couldn't stand him they should have stayed away.

  • @tyeistops Didn't he die by hanging himself? I never knew why he did that.

  • @WonkyTonkBotty yeah he did and it is a real shame. No one will ever know the true reasoning behind it, but he lapsed back into alcoholism at the time so i'm sure that played a part as well.

  • @WonkyTonkBotty He ODed on heroin in Hawaii

  • @tyeistops Me too, 40 nooooo!!!!!

  • Classic ... my mom's family is native but they are also Scott .. this is our shared heritage .... love the dance they are doing ... :)

  • R.I.P. Stuart.

  • @MsKerrieLuongo1991 I lived through this era, saw these guys a few times, good luck to you, I wish you well, I truely do

  • @sHORSLEYs its early 80s, wot you'd expect? less?

  • Sure sounds like there are bagpipes playing. Are there? If so, where are they? I don't see any keyboards. What's making the bagpipe sound? Am I imagining them because they're Scottish???

  • @manlius

    nooooooooooooooooo bagpipes!

Just the way Stuart and Bruce played their guitars...

a gorgeous, tuneful sound but really nothing like bagpipes.

  • @manlius are you disrespecting scotland? l

  • @kingston0708 no. do you consider bagpipes disrespectful?

  • Thanks for uploading. Wish I could have been around to see them play this song back in their hay day.

  • its like inxs without mike but i do say if they wanna do it go for it by all means

  • @MRDXKLIQ101

    dunno about that!

BC have lost not only singer/songwriter but guitarist/ and true passion......yes...Tony and Bruce have the abilities/passion but have not got that 'certain something'....they are the most amazin' guys around; don't wish to take anything from them; they rock! tony, bruce and mark are all part of it all! No disrespect to anyone here: Stuart can never be replaced in any shape or form!

He was a total 'one off'!!!!!!!!!

  • Big Country- soo far not anyone been to a 'bad' big country gig- to my knowledge... there wasn't one!

They always gave their all....and no matter what; gave time to their fans....

totally gorgeous brilliant band....will never be forgotten!

  • That's Stuart's upbringing, i.e. bringing the rest out, holding hands and introducing, class act all the way.

  • @aceshighorlow ....They showed this gig on The Tube...What was it in aid of.....It seems a strange place to hold a gig.....looking down at the front im sure that would be a health and safety issue now.....mores the pity!

  • very good! x)

  • I was at this gig, stuart asked me for my b/w cnd patch to wear for the show, which I gave him ( top right of his jacket ) I travelled across the country to see this band countless times and stuart asked me to run the fan club mag, which I did for a while. Numerous stories to tell of those great times ! Still miss Stuart loads, he was not only a supremely talented person, but just as important, a wonderful human being as well.

Sefton Park is in Liverpool, and the day of that gig was brilliant
