Sheehan had done MJ on a stage show, Julian Smith had played with other groups, etc. People who compire Escala to Bond dont have a clue. Their music is different from each others even if they play some of the same songs...be realistic, do you compaire the London Philharmonic with say the New York Philharmonic? Is one a rip off of another? They both play the same music.

Anyone who thinks Escala isn't a Bond rip off is plain stupid. Of course Bond wasn't the first string quartet. But it was the first electric string quartet. If Escala wanted to be original, they wouldn't use so many Bond tracks on their rather dull album and wouldn't try to dress and move like them. But they'll still do well so good luck to them.

Some of you are so hypcritical. Escala are rip-offs for copying a track, yet it's a track that Bond also covered. And Bond were also in no way the first string quartet, so if Escala aren't original, then there's no way Bond are either.

And to much backing music? This is a collaberation with Slash who provided the quitars. So it's not even meant to be just them.

As regards the 'talent' mentioned below, no if a fat ugly lot were playing at the same ability it wouldnt be as appealing. To make it u DO need to have talent AND you DO need to look presetable. Very few have both these factors, most having one or the other but these girls have BOTH and thats why they are so appealing!

I think it's quite sad that people are willing to instantly dislike a group because of their association with a TV programme. While i don't claim to be any kind of fan of Britain's got talent these girls are clearly talented at what they do and should surely be respected as such.

Whilst they do share a resemblance to Bond in that they're a female string quartet there sound is also quite different to Bond's. The two versions of Kashmir are very different for instance.

Oh, and they're hot.

Bond is good, no disagreement there, but, do you call bands like Guns and Roses a rip off of Aerosmith? The 3 violin and 1 cello dynamic is great and remember, 2 of the girls played with Wild before joining the other 2 for the McFly wonderland tour. Bond has sold 4 million albums but just cant seem to get the worldwide fame that Escala can with the Simon Cowell machine behind them. Personally, I like Escala's version of Kashmir better than Bond's.
