  • I Speak English But Love The Videooo !

  • i like this video..

  • wtf nice background music xD

  • obviously jumping on two feet with a full approach is going to maximize your vertical, however, the slide is designed to throw off the defense. The player comes in looking like he is going to hit a quick. Then cuts it to the back side for a quick hit. Jumping off the one foot allows the player to get there quicker keeping the defense one step behind. Planting for a jump with two feet will generally take a second longer allowing the defense to make the proper adjustments

  • @ddoggydean is it only for tall people to do this...? cuz i'm only about 6 foot tall

  • @Zeid28 Short people are capable of hitting this set, however its designed for a middle to hit. Middles are typically the tallest guys on the court. You wont know until you try hitting it. I myself am only 5'11" and i am capable of hitting a slide set. But i have a decent vertical. I even played middle in club volleyball for one season at 5'11

  • thank!

  • This attack is sometimes called a 'slide'

Usually for speed you jump with one foot. Jumping with one foot allows your body to turn to where you want to hit, as apposed to jumping with two feet.

  • This is action called "Korea" where you jump by one leg you noob...........

  • arent you meant to jump with two feet

  • Actually, not sure about fast D. If you see in game play, they seem to jump off one foot, well what I've seen anyway.

  • its not text book tho

if you look at leonel marshall he jumps with two feet

  • @viccosurfer Leonel Marshall is an outside hitter. This is a set for a middle blocker (and rarely an opposite). Really the only problem I have with it is the first step isn't going toward the setter enough. It is a lot easier for the opposing middle to read where the hitter is going and be in position to block.

  • not on a slide you don't have to... which is what this play is
