If they invent a time machine, I wanna go back to the 50s and sit in the audience for all the classic 39. All Masterpieces of comedy, thanks so much for uploading
what a great piece. when alice talks about "modern conveniences" one has to remember when washing clothes took all day. or even longer with a big family. they sewed socks and made their own clothes. everything was made from scratch in the kitchen, no fast food or microwaves. no prepackaged meals. their parents were lucky to have electricity, phones, and bathrooms could be communal etc.
maids were quite common until modern appliances came along.

I love this show but the character of Ralph Kramden is in no way lovable. I don't know where that ever got started. He isn't lovable, cute, or pitiful. He is just flat-out a mean, vindictive, asshole of a tiny-hearted man.
@Digitalbumpin - watch a few and you will see is exterior is a facade built up by his many failings and shortcomings, and that deep down he is a loveable person.
@Digitalbumpin Obviously you weren't around in the 50s. He was the model for Fred Flintstone, Archie Bunker and every other loudmouth character on tv. He was loyal and loving as well as a loud bossy man.
LOL i cant wait to be married!

Ralph is mean in this episode! Giving orders and acting demanding towards her.
There's something I noticed: Ralph and Alice don't wear wedding rings, but Ed & Trixie do!

@tomitstube The Raccoons was his lodge. Remember the raccoon hats him and Norton wore with their uniforms?

good old days when guys wore hats and smoked cigars
kruppenstein 1 year ago
@kruppenstein The hat part is good. But cigars, uh no. Cigars are for men who have a fetish for sucking on poles.
