Hey dick, this dude's been through some tough times and he's one of the decent people in this world trying to make a difference, so you should shut the hell up.. And smile for a good cause : )
my dad was diagnosed a few days ago, he always jokes around about it, but laughing at it with him really makes him feel alot better, the same with my boyfriends dad. and to be honest, laughing about it with them really makes us (me and my bf) feel better better about it too. i really hope they find a cure, for my loved ones and everyone else in the world =]
I was being sarcastic, like as if Jessica was delighted by the thought cancer.
That being said, I don't think optimism is always appropriate in these kind of situations. If something horrible happens to someone and all you do to comfort them is say "try to cheer up and be optimistic about this" you're really just avoiding acknowledging their problem, and you'll probably make them feel worse.
I disagree about making it worse. Usually when I told people I had cancer, there was nothing they could do to hide their true feelings of sadness and pity. I was truly grateful for the people who (like me) could get past how serious the situation was and laugh about it.
However you are right that it may not always be appropriate. Sometimes you just need a hug. Sensitivity is definitely key.
Lol, it is unbearable that so many people actually believe in God and "heaven"! You are just part of an ancient scam, they just based all that crap on stories and fail explainations about how life came to be. :^) Sorry I wrote this here, it was not the right forum.
she was gorgeuos im so sorry for your loss :( i walk in the relay for life every year and i love finding new way to help stop cancer thank you for this idea
I guess we'll find that out after we die . But there could be a different dimension we enter or reincarnation there are many theories yet no one knows for sure .
The most likely outcome is that you simply cease to exist, like the way it was before you were born. Any other prediction assumes that the Universe revolves around us and that it will go to great lengths to keep our minds from being destroyed.
The link is in the sidebar (to the right of the video, it's the one that ends with "smile"). The contest is over, but you can still see the winner and some of the top entries. For now, click Hugh's links for something new to do.
It used to be $1000, but when more than 1000 people uploaded their smiles, they upped it to $2k. Smivadee said the goal is 10,000 smiles. Let's keep spreading the word until we get that. :)
you did a wonderful job. it is terrible to lose people from this cause. your friend is beautiful, she still is. I pray for the people who have to go through this. And I am still.
It's not a group. It's an application. Click the link in the video description to go straight there. Or if you're in Facebook, just do a search for "Facebook Contests" and you'll see the application there. Then just "Browse Contests". You'll see it.
I love this, even if it does make me cry. You look great! Thank you for bringing a smile to Christa's face at Yale, and thank you for bringing her smile to everyone else. You are honoring her memory beautifully.
Awesome video. I'm sorry that Christa never made it. You are an awesome inspriation.. not just to cancer patients. but anyone that has been through something traumtic. Thank you for reminding me that laughter is the best medicine. Like you know I'm paralyzed and that is truely a downer... but life is what you make it.
Thank you for you kind words, Laura. Laughter kept me going through my treatments, and I'm sure it will work miracles in your life. Keep on keeping on. You're amazing!

Shame on you Jessica, cancer is nothing to smile about.

For some, smiling is all they can do, rather than facing the horror of it. Don't judge.
